I am trying to apply for Green Card from my company but my HR is ready to provide all the documents but not ready to pay single penny.
But when I consulted with american lawyer,he insisted that the initial application fee for PERM has to be paid by employer otherwise it is illegal. Anyway of you guys have been through this situation and what are the alternatives.
Any suggestion will be very helpful.
FYI I also did the H1-B on my own expenses.
Thanks!

I would say get rid of the employer ( start looking for other employers who are willing to do H1b transfer and file GC in near future). I am not sure why you decided to file h1b from such employer who didn't bear expenses for h1b filing. In the long run after you file GC, your employer might exploit you more with the fact that not all the people will change the employer when their GC is in the process. Is your employer a desi consultancy?
Just my 2 cents!

I dont know much but one thing is sure... H1 & PERM expenses (that includes ad posting) should be the expense of employer. Your employer smells fishy..

you give cash to your employer and they will send check to the lawyer with their name and signature.
