I was wondering if there are words called "maluwa" or "maalu" in Nepali and if there are what do they mean? I just ended up betting with a friend that there are such words but I could not find their meanings in any dictionary. I am almost certain that I heard the word "maluwa" in some Nepali song.

"Yo khane chakki hoina, Yo maluwa chakki ho" bhanne pariwar niyojan ko ad chahi sunekai ho maile pani saano ma..

maluwa hoina kahlua bhanne chai america aayera sune....chakhe huncha..mitho huncha

 

मालु भनेको त मलाई पनि थाहा भएन, तर मलुवा भनेको चाँही सुर्तिको प्रकारनै भन्नु पर्ला। हुनत म सुर्तिजन्य पदार्थ सेवन गर्दिन तर पनि जहाँ सम्म मलाई थाहा छ, एक थरी सुर्ती बजारमा तयारी अवस्थामा नै पाईन्छ, अर्को थरी भने आँफैले हातमा रखेर माड्दै, चुना हालेर तयार पारिन्छ, त्यसैलाई मलुवा भनिन्छ। vaaNYC ले सुनेको गीत शायद तारादेवीले गाएकै गीत हुनु पर्छ।

"Maaluwa" is a kind of bird. These birds fly in big groups. Their size is like "dhukur" and or "Parewa". They are beautiful and look similar to "dhukur" and "Parewa"  and are symbol of "Love".

Thats right npthito Maluwa is dry tobacco that people in Nepal who are into chewing tobacco and mix it with chun. I have seen mostly bhaiyas doing that so I used to ask the bhaiya who cut my hair to make me some, it was good but kinda strong for me coz I am a balwaan chhap fan hehehe
