The town is changing its face rapidly with glass tinted buildings cropping up everywhere. Many of the old buildings in the town are also undergoing renovation to look on par with new ones, i.e. modern decor, marble flooring, state-of-the-art mod cons and fixtures.
“The market area has changed significantly over a short span of time,” says Sanjiban Shrestaha, a local. He gives the credit for this transformation to the banks and other financial institutions that are setting up their branch offices in Narayangadh.
With the aim of luring clientele in the competitive market, these financial institutions leave no stone unturned to make their office buildings look attractive and modern.
Most of the houses from Lions Chowk to Pulchwok are already occupied by different banks.
“Aesthetic feature of the building is also one of the factors that lures customers besides the facilities offered by a bank,” says a general manager of recently opened commercial bank.
About a dozen banks have extended branches in Narayangadh within past three months.
“Most of the banks open their branch office here as it is at the centre of the country. Besides, Narayangadh has basic infrastructures and security that are essential for the operation of the banking services,” say Manoj Khadka, branch head of Prime Bank.
Inhabitants of Narayangadh hope the makeover and growth of their town will also create opportunity and buoy their economic condition.
