Mom and Dad, Kaka and Kaki- Flat Panel or Plasma around 37"

Dai Bhauju, DD and Bhenaju- Laptop

Fuccha Fucchi – Wii (It is better than Play station or x box)

Grandpa- Now that’s little difficult, I'll say a massaging machine (Chair) from Bath and Beyond.

Have fun in Nepal.

Hope my idea will help you. First budget your spendings

Go to CVS and buy lots of NON expensive CVS brand lipsticks, mascara, makeup kits shaving blades, aftershaves, body spray(tag, axe),perfumes, soaps, over the counter medecine like tynlenol, aleeve, bengay advil ,centrum, lotions and creams,&some lady hand bags, purses, wallets......to distrubute to relatives and random friends who will hope gifts from you . Buy like a lot of familysize bags of chocolate and candy like mini snickers, kitkat, lafe savers, gums. inexpensive kid watches, animated dvds, cool NBA, NFL,etc outfits at walmart or whole sale stores like BJS of cosco etc. buy different sizes of T-shirts that says ...USA with flags or the city you live in ...Like Newyork, BOSTON  etc.lots of good american alkaline  Batteries..portacle CD player(cheap now a days)  team logo caps, KB TOYS and buy some cool toys, action figures, may be deflated basket ball or a soccerball........vibratingMassagers self heating blankets, keychains, USA tie pin and broaches, buy warm socks....... In local malls you can buy polarized sunglasses for like 10 $s and they are pretty good,  Buy a couple of cartons of Marlboro here made in usa...NOT DUTY FREE they will know, its embrasing to see made in singapore. LAPTOP, CAMCORDER, DIZITAL CAMERA, CELL PHONES, X-BOX, PLAYSTATION, PORTABLE DVD, MP3 PLAYERS or IPOD, MOVIE PROJECTOR, NAME BRAND WATCH(movado), and best GIFT OF ALL MONEY........I know its a lot but believe me its worth it.

totally agree with maddogg...budget ur spendings. the first thing u'd want is to get things for ur immediate family: the ones u listed. mom, dad i'd go for some good watches...like movados...of if that's too much then may a citizen eco drive n stuffs... don't get me wrong but if i were u i wudn't buy a ring frm here. its 10 or 14 k n ppl in nepal prefer yellow ones...like 22- 24 k....just think abt it. i'd get some good perfumes for families...however my budget works. for dai, bhauju, kaka kai...wud be real interested in electronics...may be a digital cam or whteva...n u can add some lipsticks n lotions, perfumes for lil kids...play station is huge n girls loooooooove clothes. so get some deals in the mall or whtever. i'd buy some lotions, aaftershaves, body splash whtever or shirts for frens... grannys r the tuff ones..mmm actually really don't kno much!! how abt some over the counter pain relief creams??? trust me...most of them have joint pains...n wud love such creams. n i'd buy them sarees, golds n stuff when i get to nepal....n don't forget those chocolates n candies...it'lll come real handy for u.

tintotopi : thanks for suggestion, i dont think giving money is  good way for gifting .

mno : am not thinking to get clothes from walmart. am not that cheap. and i never compromise on clothings. you are right, we can get those clothes in nepal.

Cheerios: i like ur suggetion. i wont get expensive jwellery from here. its better idea to spend some dollars in nepal for those jwellery. after all they dont like white gold.

Thank you all...any others??

mno...........unless you are loaded and can afford expensive gifts...Go for it..nothing wrong and its a better gift too and that will be great gifts for immediate family............... but for all those relatives who expect..........CVS walmart is what most of us shop for......unless you are the Name brand savy............Because CVS is a pretty good store.....two dollar lipstic, mascara....is still  170 RS 12$ make set still 800RS......10 $ sun glass is still Rs700. 15$ kid watches is still RS1000, lotions and creans around 5-20 $ still 300RS to 1400RS. Do the math......things here are stillway more effective and expensive gifts in Nepal...........4$xX 5=$20 chocolate bags is 1400RS worth ....shop both ways ........both expensive ones and non expensive ones to satisfy.... others think about bhansar and Nepal baggage system......How expensive do you want to risk. I have lost a small pack of cosmetics from CVS it was not a big loss. and yes......scatter small gifts things in your luggage...like inside pockets, folded clothes...dont make it easy for anyone to grab by putting it together in aa plastic bag. And do keep all expensive electronics with you and in your hand bag if possible

It depends upon whom you are dealing with and how the conversation starts.

First: If you are married and have children, no one knows better than you do.

2nd: If it is for your parents, they will accept any thing that if from your heart.

3rd: Close relative, The relationship you had and have, Visit them and have great conversation.

4th: Keen Friends have get together, refresh the old memory  and enjoy.

Rest who are curious how much you have earned, have nice conversation without irritation.

Hello Rawbee,

It’s very good to know that you are going to meet your families & friends after a long time. As you mentioned, you haven't send any gifts to your families beside mom and dad. Well then there are some of my personal suggestions for you.

Grand Pa: 77    -Warm Cotton Jacket (choose gray or tan color -TJ Max) –winter on way!

Dad (45-50)     -Watch~Seiko/Citizen/Casio (JC Penny or Sears) & French Cap (TJ Max)

Mom                - Woman Dress set (JC Penny) & Purse (JC Penny/TJ Max)

Dai (32-38)      - Tie (2x) & Sunglass (Oakley or Ray-ban - from sunglass hut or Macy)

Bhauju              - Ladies Purse (TJ Max) & Sandal (JC Penny/Famous foot ware/Payless)

Bhenaju(32-38)- Warm Cardigan Sweater(Gray with Strip) & Formal Shirt (TJ Max)

Didi                  - Nice Cutie Ladies watch (JC Penny/Sears) and Perfume (TJ/Macy’s)

Kaka (35-40)   - Plain Polos & Shirt (TJ Max/Gap)

Kaki                 - Ladies Purse (JC Penny/TJ Max) + Lipstick (x2) from (Wal-Mart)

1 fuchi 10 yrs    - Tees from JC Penny or Aeropostale or shoe (Payless)
3 Fucha haru 12-15 yrs â€“  Get Tees (you can guess the size by their age), pants not Reco!

Frens - I suggest buying the same for all. Either go with Cigarette box/Zippo (if they smoke) OR Jump Drives (idle for professionals)-(Sandisk4gb=$20 or less)

I would also suggest you to take 10-15 pcs of Lipstick light (10) & dark (5) color mixed, some eyeliners, few mascara & nail polish; choose brand names as L’Oreal, Mabelline, New York or Revlon (Wal-Mart – always less for cosmetics). And, if possible get one blood pressure measuring device from Wal-Mart, good for family.

And where to SHOP these all: As per my experience, I went to "TJ MAX", "JC Penny" and “GAP” for clothing. TJ Max has decent branded ladies purses, perfumes, shirts & polos whereas JC Penny has woman dresses, purses and sandals.

Good Luck & have a wonderful shopping.
