Can we do labor certification before the H1 begin date and apply for GC on October 1 as H1 status? Is that advisable?

no, you have to publish your ads on newspaper before applying in DOL, then it may take 3 months to certify. They may investigate further about your job calling company. You can start before H1 begin, but your company should agree to sponsor you. And, labor certificate has 6 month time limit to apply you for Green card!!!!

ceeramic, I think your company might have to document all these interviews and make a report including the reasons for why those candidates were not hired. Normally, DOL does not ask all these documents but if your company has to go through Audit then they might want to see everything. Most attorneys want the HR of the company to prepare a report so that if the case gets audited, they have everything covered. Talk to your attorney.
karmayogi, I would call my attorney to check the status instead of checking it myself. Normally attorneys check these status every morning and will let you know once it is decided. If you want to check it by yourself then you can go to: www.plc.doleta.gov . The best way is to be patience and wait.

summit,
thanks for your response. But when i open website you refer, it prompts with warning. I wonder only employer or attorney can only access this website. I will try to get reply from my employer. on the meanwhile, waiting is the only option I have. my consultancey(employer) applied Labor certification for me. Some employee already got approval and some on the way. By the way I am working with them for 1 year. But I don't know whether they have advertised for the post or not?

Could anyone tell me what reason might be behind getting no news from DOL for more than 6 months regarding labor cert. from NYC? My guesses are :
A. There were querries but Attorney did not inform you.
B. Backlog due to high volume of applicants.
C. Other reason/s which you might know.
Or, is this the normal period if you have applied in NY ?
Pls suggest.
