Guys,

One of my friends had applied H1b on behalf of an indian consultancy. He got his receipt number and hopefully it will get approved soon. He just got another good full time job in a good company so he wants to switch. As we all know that the H1b status starts on 1st october, so my question is if it is possible to get his H1b transferred to the new employer before october 1st provided that he is in opt right now and he has not begun his work with this company who filed his h1b. So he can not show pay stub from this company who filed his h1b. Does anybody know abt it? Plz suggest.

I am in same situation. I have been working with this company as consultant since my OPT was started . Now they are planning to offer permanent. But haven't got my h1b (which has been filed from desi consulting) approval yet. But as far as i know, we can transfer our h1b before Oct 1st.. what we just need is our approval notice....

If u are in OPT rightnow, u don't have to show any paystubs.....just need ur approval notice & the same documents(visa, passport, i-94 and bla bla) what u have submitted for first time.
