I think you have multiple Tnsnames.ora files in your computer or server.

It should be updated with correct info. Check again. There is no other reason to this error.

 

 

If you have old tns file (before applying the patchset) use that file and try to connect again. Also check if your tns file is in correct directory.

what does "lsnrctl status" say?  Check if you are using the right service name as shown in that output in tnsnames.ora.  Try to set TNS_ADMIN environment variable, if there are multiple ORACLE_HOME

Thanks Khurmane, restored the backed up tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora. There is nothing on metalink too. Anythingelse on your mind?

What platform are you in?  If you are in linux/unix variants use netca to configure listener.  If you are in windows it should have "net configuration assitant".  Then stop/start listener with lsnrctl stop/start.  listener is configured in the server side whereas tnsnames.ora is used on the client side...

Try setting listener.ora file as in

It will bring you more of this pain if you don't know how to remove a patch.
Not a good practice, reinstalling the whole thing looking from Sys Admin point of view.
