Petrol, diesel and kerosene will now cost Rs 73/litre, Rs 56.86/l and Rs 51/l respectively

LPG cylinder will cost 1100 rupees.

The NOC increased the price of petrol by 6 rupees per litre, diesel by 2 rupees and kerosene by 3 rupees per litre and LP gas by 200 rupees per cylinder.

The NOC said the revision in POL prices would be effective from today midnight.

NOC managing director Digambar Jha described the price hike as “minimum possible hike”. He said the hike was inevitable in view of the continuous loss the NOC has had to cope with.

“The price of oil in the international market has jumped from about USD 63 to USD 83 per barrel in the last 4-5 years and the NOC’s debt has crossed 13 billion rupees by now,” he said. “Despite the increase in the prices, NOC will still be facing a loss of around 60 million rupees a month,” he added.

He claimed that the hike would normalise the supply of petroleum products. “There will be full supply from tomorrow. I am sure there’s won’t be queues in gas stations anymore,” he said.

सरकारले पेट्रोलियम पदार्थको मूल्यवृद्धि गरेको छ । पेट्रोलको खुद्रा मूल्यमा रु ६, डिजेलमा रु २, मटितेलमा रु ३ र खाना पकाउने एलपी ग्यासमा रु २ सय प्रतिसिलिण्डर बढाइएको छ । ७ कात्तिकमा मूल्यवृद्धिको निणय गरिएपनि ८ कात्तिकबाट लागू हुनेछ ।

नयां मूल्यअनुसार पेट्रोलको खुद्रा मूल्य रु ७३, डिजलको ५६, मटितेल रु ५१, खाना पकाउने एलपी ग्यास प्रतिसिलिण्डर रु ११ सय रहने व्यवस्था गरिएको छ । यसअघि पेट्रोलको खुद्रा मूल्य ६७, डिजलको ५३, मटितेल ४८ र खाना पकाउने एलपी ग्यासको मूल्य रु ९ सय थियो ।

सरकारका तफबाट आपूर्ती मन्त्रालयका सचिव पुरुषोत्तम ओझाले अभावको अन्त्य गरी नेपाल आयल निगमलाई पर्दै आएको करोडौंको घाटा कम गर्न मूल्य समायोजन गर्न वाध्य भएको बताउनुभयो । उहांले आपूर्ती सहज बनाइ अभावको अन्त्य गर्न वाध्य भएर कदम चालिएको बताउदै भन्नुभयो,'परिस्थितिलाई बुझेर सबैले मनन गर्नुहुनेछ भन्ने विश्वास लिएका छौं ।' उहांले दलहरुबीच सहमती भएअनुरुप सरकारले मूल्यवृद्धिको निणय लिएको बताउनुभयो ।

मूल्यवृद्धि गरिएपनि आयल निगमलाई मासिक ७ करोड घाटा पर्ने बताउनुभयो । हालसम्म ११ अरब ५३ करोड दायित्व बोकिसकिएको बताउदै इन्डियन आयल निगमलाई मात्र अरबौं रुपियां तिर्न बांकी रहेको बताउनुभयो ।

निगमले घाटा व्यहोरेकाले इन्डियन आयल निगमलाई बक्र्यौता तिर्न नसक्दा आपूर्ती असहज बन्दै आएको छ । पेट्रोलियम पदार्थ र ग्यासको अभावले र्सवसाधारण निकै मर्कामा पदैआएका छन् ।

WTF?  Who is the fugger trying to hoodwink?  What about the NRP's gain against the USD and above all, what about all the debt that the NOC has still not paid to the Indian Government causing all this shortage (ever since we defaulted on our payment two years ago).  The top brass at the NOC have gradually siphoned off every penny from Nepal's Oil revenue into their personal bank accounts and this, not the reasons he mentioned is why the ordinary Nepalese citizens have to pay the price.  Look for inflation to skyrocket...A damn farce since GDP may be up, but real GDP can kiss my azz!!

Rs. 1100 for a Gas Cylinder?? Use of renewal energy is a must in this context now.
