I have been trying to figure out about health insurance situation. I have a health insurance from a county for PCP or if I have to see a specialist. I tried to get Medi-Cal but I couldn't because they said I am not a citizen. I got my county insurance through TPS. I have been using my county insurance but one time Medi-cal paid my bill but my Medi-Cal is only for emergency and that was not emergency.

The question is I am planning to get my own health insurance and the cheapest option I have is ISO (if you know any good and affordable one?) because I don't want any trouble while filling for green card. I do still have Medi-Cal for emergency and county for others. Do you think that Medi-Cal bill payment could affect the paper work or county could affect based on Trump new rules. I have also used planned parenthood because I was eligible (have used only twice). But I have used county insurance a lot for everything like for regular check-ups, to see specialists because I had to in my condition. Should I be worried about using them?

Please suggest me or let me know whatever you know.

Read this. It says rules is only for new visa applicant. Since you already took some benefits no point of worrying now. That also doesn't mean you will face problem because there is no such policy yet. Also you know policy keeps changing. Just care about health first and get the one that covers u good and stop worrying as it is not going to do anything.

Anybody else has more information because I had read somewhere how health insurance can affect the green processing. And any good health insurance option or I should keep using my county ones? Any insight will be appreciated.

Yes, it will affect your green card processing since the insurance that you are using is considered as a public charge.

Benefits Not Subject to Public Charge Consideration

Under the agency guidance, non-cash benefits and special-purpose cash benefits that are not intended for income maintenance are not subject to public charge consideration. Such benefits include:

Medicaid and other health insurance and health services (including public assistance for immunizations and for testing and treatment of symptoms of communicable diseases, use of health clinics, short-term rehabilitation services, prenatal care and emergency medical services) other than support for long-term institutional care
Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
Nutrition programs, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)- commonly referred to as Food Stamps, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program, and other supplementary and emergency food assistance programs
Housing benefits
Child care services
Energy assistance, such as the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
Emergency disaster relief
Foster care and adoption assistance
Educational assistance (such as attending public school), including benefits under the Head Start Act and aid for elementary, secondary or higher education
Job training programs
In-kind, community-based programs, services or assistance (such as soup kitchens, crisis counseling and intervention, and short-term shelter)
Non-cash benefits under TANF such as subsidized child care or transit subsidies
Cash payments that have been earned, such as Title II Social Security benefits, government pensions, and veterans' benefits, and other forms of earned benefits
Unemployment compensation
Some of the above programs may provide cash benefits, such as energy assistance, transportation or child care benefits provided under TANF or the Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG), and one-time emergency payments under TANF. Since the purpose of such benefits is not for income maintenance, but rather to avoid the need for ongoing cash assistance for income maintenance, they are not subject to public charge consideration.

Note: In general, lawful permanent residents who currently possess a "Green Card" cannot be denied U.S. citizenship for lawfully receiving any public benefits for which they are eligible.

@rambroo thank you for the info. I don't see my type of situation like county insurance. I didn't get any surgery but most regular check-ups and specialists. I have to figure it out in order to take proper actions in the future.
