I knew an african guy from lyft and he told me that his friend can buy me a car and i gave him some amount of money and he has not brought me a car and neither he has given my money back and when i call him he always tell me that the car is with him but he never shows any proof of the car.What should i do?
Should i go to the police for this situation?

You got any proof of money you gave to him?? If not expect an uphill battle.

why would you give your hard earned money to anyone just like that. You got scammed. lesson learned.
If you just wanted a car you could have gone to any small dealership you find on craigslist or even a private seller. May be you wanted stolen car for cheap.....
Now count your loss and move on.
