What's your next best option? (It's a rhetorical question, I am not suggesting you post the answer here; just something for you to think about).
Dude, go for it. What do you have to lose? If you succeed, you will have a nice career and financial security in a couple of years. If you fail, you can try something else. Like someone said, you don't score 100% of the shots you don't take in life. Different people have different aptitude, so there is no way anyone can tell you whether/how fast you will learn Java or how good you will be. Only way to find out is by trying. You've been gifted this marvelous thing called DV, please don't waste it just coz you are afraid of trying. A lot of non-computer graduates take short-term training from consultancies and learn on the job (the first year is going to be tough, you will get used it after that).

Just my experience : Java is tough if you can't grasp the object oriented language concept. You said you are not that much computer savvy , so might be a challenge. You can watch some initial video on you tube, there was a guy called thebostonguy , not sure . if you can make initial java program " hello world" and if it interests you go for it. If not there are other lot of it programs which is easy to learn and can interests you like SQL, LINUX, QA, BA and so on. If you are good on any one of those, then you can get similar paisa like Java, thing is if your work excites you and challenges you at the same time , good luck
