I am having to write a brief paper on any tradition that is followed in any culture. In this regard, I have decided to write about a tradition in my own Nepalese culture. Could anybody with experience and knowledge please elaborate on “Mit-Mitini” tradition in Nepal? Is it a historical tradition being passed down? How is this tradition followed? What is the ceremonial process? What is the purpose of this tradition?

Thank you guys for your input. I never had a "Mit" and was never very interested. But reading your stories, and events in your stories, make me nostalgic. It reminds me of "jado mahina ko chutti", spent with friends, playing "guchha," riding bicycle, lying down on chaur with friends enjoying warm afternoon after cold morning, eating badam, titaura, momo, roaming around and getting to places and gallis of your tol you had never been to and many many more. This was the schedule of the entire holiday.
