Situation of Nepal is getting worse everyday due to corrupt politicians. Sometimes I feel like Nepal will be better off as an Indian territory. What do you thik?

All Nepali leaders are purchased by India : they are acting on it. May be sooner or later it going to happen.
As the population of Indian origin going  up and will become the majority: they may demand to be a state of India.

If Nepal becomes an indian territory then the Nepalese Rupees will cease to exist. I think we are better off saving in dollars.

The best option would be to be a far flung state of USA. USA would only be too happy with this proposal. Imagine the great developmental activities that would take place here at the same time preserving our cultural identity.

To a lesser extent joining India would be a great solution also. Sikkim is a wonderful state, beautiful and good law and order. Nepal could be same. India has much more money than Nepal. By joining India, as a state, Nepal will be able to preserve her cultural identity without being racist, much like Sikkim does. Otherwise slowly more and more indians will take up citizenship in Terai and they will eventually become majority, thus even as an independent country, it will be a mini India anyways. 

Nepal can never educate her people, uplift poverty nor fend for herself in a crisis. I know. I know. Hami gorkhali ho hamro maato blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.......this dialogue does not feed people.

IT is time that Nepalis realise that we are failed country.

Why don't you STFU ? I know you are a cosmopolitan and global citizen ( sadly carrrying nepali passport, i guess) but all the nepalese people are not advanced like you. Many of them still love Nepal as an independent country and can stay poorer happily than being an indian. I know most of the commentor including OP of this thread are bahuns except patan ( i guess) as I have heard same lines from bahun people since I was in school. Who is responsible for [Disallowed String for - bad word]ed up state on nepal? Koirala, Dahal, nepal, khanal, bhattarai, Pokhrel, etc right??? Why don't these people quit politics on which they already proved themselves that they suck. If you think Sikkim is better because of her assimilation in india why don't you migrate and settle to india, the place you guys originally belong to? You are right about politicians and their caste but how can you prove that any other caste would have done better?. Many people if given a chance between a better life and Nepal will choose a better life. That is why people go middle, west.....in hope to get a better life. They will return to Nepal and live a better life. So you are wrong that people would prefer misery over a better life. You speak for a minority of these khukuri wielding, khatra dialogue mouthing group of Nepalis who have nothing better to do than inciting violence.

The good thing about being educated that we are able to think. Use our brain to find a good solution for a problem. This is what the OP is thinking. And i am thinking. You may not agree with it but stop telling lies that people in Nepal prefer misery over a better life. You can die for "maato" let others find a better life and solution. IF you like Nepal maato so much go and eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and give your rice to the hungry.

And what's this nonsese with Nepal being India's territory ? That will never happen . Of course they have influence over our politics, culture and economy but we have to coexist together.

Nepal being landlocked is also another reason that Nepal cannot progress much. And our equidistant policy also will always confuse us as half politicians will favour India, other half favour China. We are caught in this power struggle also. There are other world players present in Nepal. Thus overall making Nepal ghar ko na ghat ko.

You talk of Nepal unification but the instituition which unified Nepal has already been kicked out. So much for respecting the unification of Nepal. Ordinary people simply want to eat and sleep and have a comfortable life.

I do not know about Orissa but i am sure people there have more hospitals, more schools, cheaper food, etc. Anyways, i know maato loving nepali people will never allow this. They care more about the maato than upliftment of poverty. Who cares if a person in the hills dies because of lack of hospital or proper road or lack of food as long as there is maato and independent country called Nepal. Right?. Go and tell them to keep on waiting for a successful Nepal. Meanwhile as most Nepalis suffer, guys like you will always remain happy because Nepal is independent country. Hurray.

I agree with Freedom2012, Nepal needs to be a part of USA or territory. The reason Nepal is [Disallowed String for - bad word]ed up is due to Bahun Chetri politicians who r loyal to India n who likes to speak hindi n promote Hindi movies n musics. Look at Bhutan they chased all Nepali Bhutanese mostly Bahun Chetris who were Hindus n now their country is developed. I don't want Nepal to be taken by China either. [Disallowed String for - bad word] Dilip Rai who is either Indian puppett or Chinese. Bahun Chetris r very cunning people not hardworking who likes to cheat. They will sell anything to India for money. I don't support Dilip Rai either.

gorikopoi is absolutely right, had they been there, they'd have completely corrupted the sytem over the course of time. Bhutan accepted them until they started politics, bombblasting and Bhutan knew if they allow them, they would become another Nepal or some rotten country. These very few bhutaness of nepalese origin(of course mostly are indian origin in history) were the most demented criminals who turn to violence to meet their demand. And, all those others had to suffer at the end being refugees thrown out of the country. Though it's bit too much as from human rights perspective bhutan did best for it's interest.
I would like Nepal to be the part of China than India but chances are Nepal will be merged to India because of cultural similarities.
One day, if people are treated well, they'll sing songs for new ruler, that's how the mentality of normal citizens. Before Prithivi Narayan, citizens were under different rulers and they're happily living under their reigns, and unification happened and citizens lived happily living under new reign. If Nepal is merged, and development skyrockets and people are treated well, who the hell will raise the voice against new govt, albeit those few anti-social criminals acting up could not be disregarded

Real question is why would any country be it India or any other country want to take Nepal as their state. There is a reason why British never came after Nepal. We all think its because we were 'strong ' but part of the reason is Nepal has nothing to offer .
Nobody is looking for headaches besides getting more territorial land etc was the old way that's not how countries think of power now and based on how our politicians behave Nepal is already a part of India believe it or not. As you all know nothing happens in Nepal without indian support. An ambassador of India to Nepal can summon all the ministers and prime minister whenever he she desires. All the politicians go to India for "pilgrimage". Maoists lived in India while brainwashing people about how they are against India and USA. It's all a game.

gorikopoi.. i think rather than stereotyping and putting a blunt allegations on bahuns and chetrys try and see the history who sold most of the Nepal's teritory to India..was it bahun or then kings(not bahun) who were so scared of their life that they chose to give up...everyone had a fair chance and  the people who were "NOT BAHUNS" were not smart enough to go up in power...At least our kings thought so who apparently was not bahun as well...

I think the only people who would sell Nepal to India would be NON BAHUNS provided their faithfulness with India.I doubt they would fight against Nepal...

May be "NON BAHUNS" are hardworking thats why NON BAHUNS are the most educated groups in Nepal and hence they are getting the right opportunities....

Every people who were born and raised in Nepal is Nepali..don't try and go back in the history and try and pull up where bahuns come from..If that is the case alll human beings originated from Africa..that way we all are africans....

I think if Nepal was really on sale, it would sell like a hotcake. Namely 2 reasons. 1)water resources 2)geographical position. USA would be the first country to respond. USA always seeks geographical advantage. Which better country than Nepal to keep an eye on China, India and Pakistan.

Within 10-20 years, USA will make Nepal into a 1st world country. Others countries will show respect towards the new nepalese americans. No more bullying. No more dirty politics. Population less than 3 crores, in less than 2 decades there will be 100% literacy rate, even the most remotest of location will be linked, hospitals, schools, etc. Buddha would have been born in USA. Mount Everest would be in USA. No campaign is needed. We would be the 52nd state of USA after Puerto Rico joins in before us. 

We will not get as much with india but there will be considerable reduction in poverty. As an indian state, we could make it illegal for people from other states to reside or live in New Nepal. There will be a lot of investments coming in. Perhaps this new nepal could join with sikkim, darjeeling to make a Greater Nepal state within india. This state will have only 2-3 crore population, we will be the richest state of india. And the safest in 10-20 years. 

China would be an option also but China is well know for not giving freedom and suppressing people. So China is out until she improves her image.
