LOL !! So you came down to pulling leg, huh?? Why don't you stop posting? Sometimes assuming silence is way powerful/better than ranting all the nonesens.

Common mate, do you think that can be a hobby? You can still see while travelling via road, can't you? BTW: Sikkim does not have anything to be bragged about

1. No airport ( small helipad is there)
2. No railway
3. No very good highway ( once, I stuck 15 days because of landslide at place named 20 (Bees) mile because there was no alternate road down to siliguri.) Road to Ilam is better.
3. No big hospital
4. No University (Manipal established few years back, and I doubt it offers diverse courses)
5. No very good public transportation (There is SNT (Sikkim nationalized transportation) for poor people, rich people travel in public Mahindra Commander or spacio, LOL)

Yes, homes are beautiful. Wooden one storied, adorned with flowers.

I know how it feels when your ego is hurt. Chill mate. This is my last post for you. Think before posting anything.

I did not want to write anything in this thread, but some of the comments are so irritating that i could not stop myself.

Keeping aside the question of whether you put some value on being a citizen of independent country or not (BTW, the idea of Global Citizen is completely different, i am for it if nobody is discriminated in any way in any country- so the ideal situation will be no need of passport and visa to travel around, just an ID), most of the time the countries may benefit by forming a union. That may be proved using a theoretical model, but you can't test  the theory using modern time data anymore as countries are disintegrating.

For those who are using example of Sikkim ( and himachal ?) etc, look at Indian states such as Jharkhand and Assam which are almost as big as Nepal interms of population. You can not dream of restricting the flow of Biharis and UPians as does Sikkim once you become an Indian state. State of Nepal will not be in a position as is Sikkim, because we already have almost 40% (?) people from madesh origin. Do'nt tell people that Nepal will become a hill station like Darjeeling and himachal pradesh, they were established during British Raj. All you can expect is that you will have to fight with cunning bihari and upians to keep you alive.

Guys, If a mere insignificant post flares tempers to such extent that we start humiliating one another and none other than our own fellow Nepalese, we should be ashamed of calling ourselves educated individuals. The original poster has long disappeared and the onlookers find it ludicrous that you guys are keeping on bickering, it only tells us one thing, we are no better than those Maoists who fly off the handle turn aggressive without a convincing cause. Agreed, our Nepali pride is unparalleled, our condition love for our nation is sky high and our patriotism is beyond bounds, but there are times we need to pause and listen thoughtfully to the fellow posters before escalating our blood pressures. Evidently the term ‘India’ is a taboo among us Nepalese, we all know that. Whether or not a person of Kerala or Manipur is aware of the Indian hegemony over Nepal, we are quick to point a finger that a ‘dhoti’ is more than eager to take our land away. Whether or not that is a puerile judgement, I do not know. However, people who used foul languages and called a fellow Nepalese a slave just because his ideas were different than them makes me cringe. Please understand that just because an anonymous poster ‘wonders’ if Nepal could have been better if it were a part of India, or Thailand or Australia for that matter it doesn’t mean he is unpatriotic, it was a mere question, not a decree. Now, what bothers me the more is some individuals relentlessly keep somersaulting back in the thread with their five minute research when they could have left long time ago and saved the day. But what bothers me MOST is some individuals replying on the same thread with multiple usernames just because they cannot prove their point effectively with one pseudonym. That is taking the argument to a different level and playing with others’ sentiments. That just smells, even from a troll’s standpoint. You know exactly who I am talking about. Insecurity, narcissism, personality disorder maybe? No disrespect for that individual, but I do not see a value in doing so. I hate to bring this up, but there was a user with multiple nicknames in some time ago and his tenure in sajha didn’t end well. I hate to see that happen again to a fellow sajhaite. It is a free site, we all know, but if someone keeps posting in every single thread and with multiple usernames, it gets a little creepy, even when he or she is not aggressive. Further, it mars his/her credibility as a poster and integrity as a visitor as a whole. My two cents: Let it go, it already has been a long night, and we all hate to read the rant of the same individual over and over again. With this note, I’d like to say goodnight, I will never reply on this thread anymore. Time to curse me now??

The amount of copy and paste job you have done is absurd here. All I was doing was musing about whether Nepalis would be better off as far as corrupt politicians if it was an Indian territory.

I said India because it's the closest neighbor and they seem to be minding our business all the time.

If I was to wish anyone to take over Nepal then I would find out about the indexes you were so generously copy pasting and choose the best country in the world, but that would be wishful thinking.

Imagine I had said the best country (according to you copy paste indexes) should take over Nepal because too many Nepalese people are suffering, then what would be your answer? Forget about india ok?

It seems like you are supporting Nepal being taken over by another country that is better off.

 Nepaluk,

I also thought so in the beginning but when you went on saying

“ But as a practical person, if someone ask what you are proud of then there is no achievement or anything else you can say besides the overused mountain and the Buddha.

And

“Perhaps instead of holding on to the hollow pride, we can move on as a whole and accept the truth and the reality that Nepal is a failed state created by the greed of politicians who mostly come from poor underprivileged upbringing and continue the cycle of the never-ending downward spiral.

Then again you replied to dolphin saying

“I am not restricted by any borders in my head and I feel sorry for narrow minded people like you who can't think beyond their own restrictive borders in your brain that somebody else have set for you.

which implies directly or indirectly how great you are and how minuscule others who do not agree with your perception

All these replies indicate you were serious about your thread and it was not just musing around, then only I decided to post

But now when I loaded the thread with facts you again came in and post “just musing around”

My friend, what if I too say “hey nepaluk, I too was just teasing you. thought thread was not worth writing something by myself so had to copy and paste facts from other sources till you come out of your cubicle”

And you did my friend

You see ppl can answer many ways. And why my pasting is absurd for you?  Just happy reading own posting or what?

“Imagine I had said the best country (according to you copy paste indexes) should take over Nepal because too many Nepalese people are suffering, then what would be your answer? Forget about India ok?

Lol, that is a hypothetical question, you haven’t asked yet, just imagination. I will answer when you ask

“It seems like you are supporting Nepal being taken over by another country that is better off.

You assume too much man, don’t be so assumptive

You stressed so much on Nepal “not achieving” and “corrupt politicians” but you missed the fact that if compared, India also “hasn’t achieved”. And politicians there too are corrupt.

If you go back and look at the first post, I was 'wondering' how it would affect corruption if Nepal was a Indian territory, that was a musing unless you will now convert the definition of musing with your cut and paste proofs.

But later as I saw people posting different opinions I posted my opinion about how the situation of Nepal sucks big time and that borders are man made and I don't justify restrictive ideologies and false pride on objects. My response in no way gave any importance to India after the initial musing. But it seems like you are hell bent on taking my musings to a level of paranoia that you are hell bent on proving when the world knows how poor India is as a whole as far as the slums and poverty. Mr cut paste warrior, we know how India sucks ok?

If I really wanted Nepal to be taken over, then I would have wanted it to be take over by the best country in the world. So in your expert opinion, would Nepal be better off it was taken over by the best country in the world?

Freedom, I was just clearing some of the misunderstanding you have about Sikkim since you were trying to show Sikkim like switzerland. To add more, Sikkim does not have industries (except Rangpo based Sikkim Distillery). Majority of population is still dependent on traditional agriculture. So, how can you claim Sikkim is way better than Nepal? Yes, you are right Law and order is good. We were also not bad few years ago and I don't think this lawlessness will last forever.

OK, I admit India is a great nation, probably super power of future. But still I do not see merging to India as a workable solution. We do not need to annex to india to be next Sikkim. No huge difference between Sikkim and Nepal as per my observation. Even if I agree with you as Sikkim is a great great place, I see more chance of Nepal being next Kashmir after annexation to union of india, not Sikkim. This is not hypothesis my friend, it's reality. Do you think  level of consciousness of Nepalese people is same as Sikkimese back in 70's?

Have a good day!

we all know nepal is an insignificant puppet nation that india pulls the strings on, we can sit here and discuss all we want and show our national pride and say we are not their bitch, but in the end are we not? in my opinion, it's almost feels like they have a lasso around our throat that they can  tighten or loosen whenever they feel necessary and we can't do anything about it but say buddha was born in nepal....laughable and sad.
