For the last couple of months, I have been dreaming about relatives and friends who have already passed away. I don't feel like they are trying to tell me anything but I am starting to wonder why I keep seeing them in my dreams. I recently heard that a person only dreams about dead people if he/she is about to die. Is this true? I am getting a little scared.

Bro... u must be contemplating abt them a lot these days.. i had similar incident, (always before going to bed, i used to think abt the dream I had in earlier day(s)) , i went to mandir and pray for them, though i am not religious person.

I just feel that I did the what they have asked from me and after that i was engaged on lot of stuffs too and it went away. sometime i see them on my dreams but not on daily basis.

Scientifically speaking, this just means your sub-conscious has been thinking about them and therefore the manifestation in your dreams.  

Having said that, in the interest of keeping in mind, mritak-ko naam-ma paani chadaunuhosh, batti baali-dinuhosh, bhagawan-lai uuni-haru-ko chir-shanti-ko-lagi prarthana garnuhosh.  I can't guarantee that will help but it sure will not hurt, right?

Just take it as some message is going to pass you, either good  or bad. Usually I  will be careful on doing things.

I agree with the thoughts provided by nepali_american. In addition to that, I talked with my parents regarding that and they too told me to "pani chadauna" after dream. But I love keep see them at least in dream so i didn't do pani chadaune kam. But I remembered them and praying for god for their settlement in heaven. As well I have donated some money to hunger kids and smile train in their name.

don't stress too much, try not to be driven by myths and superstitions. I used to see my dead friends and relatives all the time in my dreams too. do whatever it takes to calm yourself down. Though I am not an advocate of any religious practices or religion, however if you happen to be one, then your superstitions might be an advantage to you to soothe yourself down. go to a temple or whatever to ease your mind and make it  stress free. Scientifically, in psychological terms your superstitious practices should help trigger a series of events in your brain which will release a chemical that will calm you down. Now I am no doctor, and I am not claiming it will help you with what you might see or might not in your dreams. However; I do not interpret seeing dead people in your dream as your time to die as well. I used to have dreams of my dead relatives and friends and even dead celebrities for a long time at one point of my life but here i am still alive and kicking. That relation of seeing dead ppl in ones dreams means you are going to die is absurd.

 I am having the same problem seeing dead relatives in my dream...I wanted to ask someone about this  and saw this thread and wanted to comment. I think our sub-concious mind is always alert and in some way communicating with them or they are trying to communicate with us. It may be just my imagination going too far. Dreams when I see them are always a troubled dream or too much confusion, so maybe associating some negative aspect in our life with the loss of our loved one triggers this sort of dreams...

there are something that science can't define.
your logic of subconscious and thought of the subject during the day or week  reflecting in dream could be true to some extent. 
But there are people who dream about things who have never ever thought of those subjects in their lives. 
we are spirit deep within and its not unusual at all to see spirits of different forms in our dreams.

when my friend died due to epileptic incident, around 8-9 years ago, I had a dream, just for one day and that's about a year ago.. he was telling me in my dream that my lifetime is up until 67-68 years old only. and when I asked him how did you know, he had another shady unclear black figure with him, who just nodded at me as a confirmation.. the thing is I've not thought about him and he came to my dream all of a sudden. so, here logic of science fails. 

another incident that happened to me just this year twice, my boss passed away 3-4 years ago and I had seen him in one of the dreams:  like me following him and when he was climbing the ladder, he stopped me and told me to go back. The next morning, I nearly got hit by this bus, and something pulled me right off the street to sidewalk.. not like magically but, my steps just drew me back and there was big' whooooooooooosh...' when that bus passed by me.. I was thinking if I were there, I would have been dead in seconds. Didn't really think much and told myself to be careful next time.

another dream,where my boss appeared in my dream after several months, and he was just telling me to stop following him. The next day, I almost had same fate about to occur to me. I narrowly escaped. I was driving, at the intersection it was green and I was almost halfway and some modafarker just run over red light. You can't possibly imagine the situation, but that was terrifying and I became even more cautious, I mean told myself to be more cautious. Now,even if it's green, I just look left and right to make sure all the vehicles are stopped on the red. That day, I was thinking and all these incidents and dreams automatically started to get tied to each other.

From that day on, I started to believe that these spirits come to our dream to warn us about any future bad events.  It's not like when you see them, you are going to die. No, they don't want you to die. They want you to be extra cautious and be careful.
I don't nkow but if you see some real life stuff but bad things happening in the dream, just be careful and extra cautious. 

Our science yet can't accurately define why we dream.
Tell yourself  before you sleep ' I don't want to see dead relatives' or ' I want to see all the dead relatives'
Believe me, you won't see the dead relatives in your dream.
 


 

Well i guess different people have different experiences with dreams and real life. I have never had anything that has happened to me that would tie my dreams with anything that has I can relate happening in real life. to each their own. From my personal expreiences it's just your brain working subconsciously trying to visualize non sequential events that does not happen in reality. my dreams have been very vague and random, sometimes it defies every law that governs reality and sometimes it's just plain simple. I just don't see any connection between events from my dreams and my reality from whatever i have exprienced.

Don't get scared and live your life as it is. You can share your stuff to your family . YOu or they might will do pooja in worst case which in fact wont harm you either.  I also admit that it's so easy to suggest others but so difficult when it comes to you.
Eventhough I believe in science;  These dreams, re-incarnation, aliens, UFO's, ghosts-god and similar unanswered questions always perplex me and deep inside I want to beleieve it.
