I have master’s degree from Nepal (MBS), I’m planning to join Masters in Accounting here in US. My sole purpose to join masters is to be able to sit for CPA exam. I know that master’s degree is not required for CPA but my degree from Nepal doesn’t fulfill the requirement for CPA here. Since my major was Finance in Nepal, I need 30 semester hours in accounting to be able to sit for CPA exam.

My question is, Is it a good idea to get a Masters degree in accounting or go for undergrad ?  (please consider Tuition fee also)

I’m sure many have been through this situation.
 Please suggest me.

If you can and allowed to admit Go for masters. Do not waste your time and money doing bachelors.

For me masters did no good so I had to resort to doing undergrad after masters to get my first job but that is in UK. I don't know what things are like in US.

Look in to school and make your decision. You might be able to get your undergrad taking 2 semesters of school and so for the MS I would get both which is a big plus as you can write on your resume BS and MS from USA. Your call final call.Have your transcript from Nepal evaluated that is your first step and start applying for schools.
