The length of advance parole will be equal to the length of EAD with multiple entries.

Thank you @sanusaati. I have my TPS EAD which is good until dec 2016. Does this mean my travel document will be valid until dec 2016 even if i am applying for one time visit for 1 month?

@Sanusaati. One more question please. I am a F-1 student. Do I need to send a copy of my I-20? I have a bunch of I-20's.
Thanks

Hi All,
I have few questions that I have listed below regarding applying for the Advance Parole document. I would really appreciate if you could share your knowledge.
1.Do we need supporting document to prove that we NEED to go home for some emergency?
2.How long does it take to get the advance parole approved?
3.What all documents do I need to provide/
4.What should i write for Part 7 of the i-131 document where it says, " On a separate sheet of paper, explain how you qualify for an advance parole document and what circumstances warrant issuance for advance parole? Include copies of documents

Thank you!

I applied for AP Travel Document on last week of August, it came fast within 3 weeks but it is valid until Dec 2015 only ( to travel and get back by dec 2015), I applied through the lawyer with just the regular documents needed for TPS and EAD. I am still waiting for TPS and EAD. When I asked the lawyer, she said, its in the hand of USCIS how much time they allow in Travel document, so I will suggest you to apply maybe a month before you are travelling to be on the safe side.

Thanks for your quick response Welcome 2.
Do you happen to know what information you provided for Part 7 of the i-131 document where it says, " On a separate sheet of paper, explain how you qualify for an advance parole document and what circumstances warrant issuance for advance parole? Include copies of documents .
Thank!

Iron man.. I applied through the lawyer and I am not sure what information they put on that part but they did not ask me for any reason why I wanted to travel back home. Sorry I am not able to provide this information to you. I just replied to this thread so that people can have an idea that AP Travel document is not valid throughout the TPS period and depends on USICS how much time they grant in the document. Hope it helps!

parole is issued only for the period that covers your travel for the reason you'd mention in your application. Parole is not issued for multiple entries nor for the entire validity period of you EAD.

It is issued only for a short period of time (say a month) with single entry.
remember, parole does not guarantee you an entry to the United States. You'll be taken to the secondary inspection when you hit the POE.

Hi all,

It's been almost two weeks since my documents for advanced parole was delivered to USCIS and I haven't received any kind of notification yet not even the e-notification which I signed up for. Is there anyone in the similar situation? I am getting little worried because I have already booked my flight to Nepal for December?
