Kathmandu, Nepal. In an unparalleled verdict given by the Supreme court of Nepal, the first death sentence has been issued after 200 years in Nepal. The newly appointed PM of Nepal Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai had also proposed reviving the death sentence for murderers.
In this case the death sentence was not given for a murderer but someone who was responsible for a blatant loss of Rs. 10 million of hard working Nepalis. The decision was reached by a bench of 4 justice who ruled against the defendent. The defendant was not able to understand Nepali or english so few translation attempts were made but the defendent failed to respond in humane manner and was subsequently fined for contempt of court on top of the death penalty.
By section 422 of Penile code 69, the defendent was charged with willful negligience resulting in a loss of over Rs 10 million of the Nepali Airlines. The gulty mouse was hanged but did not meet its death so speaker Taranath Ranabhatt was called in to carry out the death sentence by gunfire. The fateful mouse met it's untimely end by bullets and the last thing it heard was 'rat tat tat tat tat'.
