Out of sheer frustration I have concluded that I could not return back home no matter how much I love my mama. This is the best I can do is to shout out loud 'Mama I am not coming home.' Let the people back home know that people like me who has gone out of Nepal are not ready to return and disappear in the quick sand of Nepali situation. Neither we can contribute anything at this moment other than dollars, nor can we be involved in this corrupt environment. I had kept reminding myself that no matter what you do outside you have to return, your motherland is your destination.

Sorry mama, you lost your son.

Completely agree with nevermind. No matter how much I love my family and my country, I am not in situation to go back either.

In my recent visit to Nepal, I was asked by few people when I will be returning permanently. I could not answer frankly. I had my answer, but could not speak it out. I know my answer will hurt those people and I may be termed as betrayer to family and nation.

With all my guts, I answered to one older person. My answer was another question to him. I asked him back: "Why didnt he went back to his village after moving to Kathmandu in 80s'?" He did not have any answer. But he started giving negative comment about my question.

I felt bad, the way he started commenting about my question. I opened my mouth at the end..... I just told him, he came to Kathmandu from his village for better life and once he had better livelihood, he settled there. i ALSO DESERVE THE SAME RIGHT.

I think its just your negative thoughts playing tricks on you. If you look at it from different perspective you still have a lot of potential to contribute and still be a part of our Nepal. Be part of charities, help new ones that have come over here, better yet start a program by which you can help the ones in need back in our country. Being physically far from Nepal doesn't mean you are actually Far if you know what i mean.

Peace

I find it very silly how some of you are commenting here. Pls stop blaming the country's situation for your personal benefit. There are several country in this world who are facing the same problem as we are but that dont mean others have stopped going back etiher.

the main point here is you are here unable to established as you wanted and just probably hanging on the same boring job and being frustrated, want to shift your blame,

khane mukh lie junga le chekdai na brothers, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. Just be opened up and come up with ideas what you can do not something like there is garbage piled up in the streets of ktm and i cant walk next to it bullshit.!

 and for gyanguru bro,

do you know the literacy rate of villages in Nepal? the poor old man probably never went to school in his days so how come you expect him to ask you smart questions like so hows Obama doing in his agendas? or what do you do and how much you make? Teach him what you know dont ignore him and dont feel bad. Its common human psychology. When a white ass asks you oh where is nepal?. you get so proud and excitingly tell him about it, do the same thing to the poor old man.

 c'mon do some math.

and now pls feel free to curse me and insult me any one of you who feel i am being smartass. At least that you all can do.!

Are we being serious? Stop blaming others. I was in Nepal in December and i saw absolutely nothing to suggest that i should not go back. First and Foremost we cant expect foreigners to fix our system and secondly i saw people with smile inspite of walking in the dusty road. i look at people in metro and i see more with gloomy faces.

Let me copy and paste a part of Michelle Obama's interview:

You know, people ask me, what's -- you know, what do I miss most about Chicago or my old life. And the truth is, is that what I've discovered by living in the White House is probably what we all know. It's not the house you live in or the car you drive or the motorcade you're riding in, I love the White House cause my family is there. And we could be living under a rock and if we've got each other and we can laugh and talk over dinner, then it doesn't matter where we are or whose mad at you or whose criticizing you. You know, it's family at the core.

Perhaps, home is where your family is as per the First Lady's text.
On the other hand, home is also probably where you feel you will continue to feel comfortable in the light of a number of people looking to settle in countries with opportunities.
