I know Gagan very well.. whiling staying in Ktm. This man not only knows how to use power but also knows how to abuse it. It could be dangerous. I have seen in those situations too. This guy is smart enough to distinguish between situations where he should be taking challenges to show how good leader he is.. at the same time, he knows the situations where he has to save his butts and how to save his butts.
I dont consider him other than opportunistic person and people will know it as he climbs up the political ladder.

Truly, I really don't like any politicians in current political battleground especially in US and Nepal, seriously republicans are bunch of douche and Dems don't seem to carry credentials to lead this sinking country. Americans and wannabe americans like us are in big time trouble. There were two questions on the original posting and I would answer both.

1. A dead politician is the best kind of politician. S/He cannot screw up the country any longer.

2. As far as the best leader for Nepal, I think it would be Deuba. He has some vision and he has some good advisors. Now, whether he or anyone else will be able to lead the country out of the current mess is totally different question. There are too many variables outside of this person's control.

Gachchadar Warns of Armed Struggle in Terai

Rautahat, October 29 Senior Nepali Congress leader on Sunday warned of an armed struggle in the Tarai if the demands of the Tarai folks were ignored. "The Maoist launched revolution with the help of khukuris and swords and the Madheshi people will launch another revolution with the help of sophisticated weapons like the Self-Loading Rifle (SLR) if the government ignores the demands raised by Madhesis," said Bijaya Kumar Gachchahadar, former minister and NC central leader. He said that the Madhesi people should be given to lead the nation and the Madhesis can unite by forming a new political party. Nepali people want change, but the seven political parties are in favour of a status quo, he said on Sunday while addressing an interaction on Constituent Assembly election to establish right of the people from marginal and ethnic groups and castes, jointly organised by the Tharu Welfare Committee, Rautahat, Tharu Student's Society and Rautahat-Bara Active Tharu Society. Though the political leaders talk of Federal Democratic Republic, they do not want to mention it in the Interim Constitution, he said adding that Madhes revolution forced the seven political parties to amend the Interim Constitution. The issue of inclusion of all marginalised groups in the constituent assembly should be raised because the country will go for a Federal Democratic Republic, he said. The Maoists, who launched war to press for holding an election to constituent assembly, are now obstructing the holding of an election to the constituent assembly, he said, adding that the Nepali Congress strongly supported holding of a constituent assembly at the earliest. Parliamentarian Umakanta Chaudhary said that the Tharus have now become aware of their rights and that they would fight for them through the constituent assembly. People from the hills and the sourthern part of the country have been exploiting Tharus for long, he said. Govinda Chaudhary, an assistant minister during the royal regime, said he strongly supported an election to the constituent assembly even though he worked as a minister during the royal regime.

Madhav Kumar Nepal is one of the most corrupted leader in UML..However, there are some politicians with great vision..Pradeep Nepal from UML, Minendra Rijal, Pradeep Giri and Narahari Acharya from Congress and of course Gagan Thapa could be a great leader...Gagan Thapa , I believe, could bring positive changes, if given the opportunity, but....Until there is GP ( who isn't too bad at the moment), he dont get any chance

Ram Chandra Poudel is another crook politician. He recently claimed to have more than 10 million rs. loan. Will he ever pay it back? If so, how?  There is no way he can not pay it off -- even if becomes Minister for rest of life.
