...that's a thought that came to mind after reading this: http://www.nepalnews.com.np/archive/2007/apr/apr30/news07.php and the past reports about the army saluting the gyane with the old national anthem.

This outcry will at the least keep both General Katuwal and King Gyanendra in check - at least for the short term. A military coup might sound like a good thing to some, and while it would seem suicidal at this point for the monarchy, if it does happen, it will probably not be able to sustain itself for long. I think (and hope) both Mr Katuwal and the King understand that.

As long as there is king, there will always be special relation between the king & the ROYAL NEPALESE ARMY. So first we need to exile king, then we can have the real NEPAL ARMY military coup without the influence of the king. This coup will then kill all the corrupt politicians and the maoist terrorists. Only then we will have a peaceful, law abiding NEPAL

and what you think about this news Maoists attack police post, abduct 5 cops Kantipur Report BANKE, May 1 - Maoists Monday night took five police personnel into custody after attacking Suyiya Police Post in Banke. The Maoists cadres also made away with three rifles and a Chinese pistol in the incident. According to District Police Office (DPO), Banke, the team of nearly 500 Maoists which had arrived at 9pm, abducted five police officers, including the in-charge SI Mukesh Kunwar. The whereabouts of the abducted policemen remain unknown. Other three police officers stationed at the post, however, managed to come in contact last night. The details of the incident, however, are still sketchy. Meanwhile, a police team led by SP of DPO went to the site of the attack for further investigation this morning.

Thapap: it is not right for an army chief to have a secret meeting with an accused criminal who has yet to appear in court. ImI, Sumedhu and happy days: my point is that it is time to get rid of the Gyane annoyance (and all the conspiracies that he may be accused of), so that we can focus on real rebuilding of democratic institutions, on addressing the menace caused by those who don't respect democracy (at this point mostly the Maoists and their affiliates), and on bringing justice to the families who suffered losses during the civil war.

Arnico, Let me tell you something very clearly as many of you and alike ganatantrabadi who are not maoist are not understanding a simple thing. AS LONG AS THERE IS MAOIST , NEPAL WILL NEVER FLOURSIH.THERE WILL NEVER BE PEACE IN NEPAL AND DEMOCRACY -JUST FORGET IT. second , King - ok you guys want to get rid off King .Thats fine. But at least you need to ask people of Nepal , Right? 8 SPAMS cannot decide these things.OK granted 1 million people took part in the revolution last year.Is population of Nepal 1 million? when maoist are running two governments still in Nepal. What will guarantee even if we eject King at this point they won't continue what ever they like ? MAOIST ARE UNTAMABLE JUNGLEES OR THEY ARE ACTING LIKE ONE - VERY CLEVER . GYANE is a last play card left for democratic forces .I do not believe he needs to do any coup.Nepali people as always will get frustrated withthese Netas and will give it to him.Mark my words.Remember how people were frustrated with these parties before king took over. So, you want to give last card - either you are too stupid or too naive ?

8 SPAMS cannot decide these things.OK granted 1 million people took part in the revolution last year.Is population of Nepal 1 million? Where was your population then? I do not think that those people who took part in the revolution were the minority. In fact, they were the majority and those who did not take part in voicing their opinions were either cowards or neutral mass. Is it time to fire Katuwal and exile Gyane? Yes. No conspiracies again. Let the things settle before yet another solution. I see that our politics is more like finding a wife. One must settle with what one has and make it beautiful. And these people are with conspiracies ever to find an even beautiful wife. The whole nation weeps on those opportunists.

So their voice should not be heard cause they didn't go to break statues and Defy curfew????- you are one hell of a democrat.. finding a solution from self appointed MPs!!! Opportunist ...There is one very big opportunist you forget to mention - UML. others are smaller brothers infront of Great MR.Nepal and UML.

I think its time to wipe the Slate clean and get rid of all these OLD FARTS. As long as they are around... GIRIJA will stall to hold on to power, Prachandey will keep blaming the Royalist for all the misdoings of his fellow commies, and the king will keep holding on to his yearlong vacation. IF WE BRING IN NEW PEOPLE WHO WE(nepali people) WILL HOLD ACCOUNTABLE FOR EVERYTHING THEY DO. THE GOVT HAS TO BE TRANSPARENT IN ORDER TO SATISFY EVERY MONKEY(so they cannot complain). Its been over a year and we have yet to see any progress at all. Its time for a change. WE GAVE FAT ASS GYANEY A YR TO FIX THE PROBLEM. AND ITS BEEN ABOUT THE SAME TIME THIS GHANTAAAATANTRA HAS TAKEN POWER. WHERE THE FUG IS THE IMPROVEMENT ? WE ARE IN A DEEPER HOLE THAN LAST YEAR.

Kiddo coffee says, "IF WE BRING IN NEW PEOPLE WHO WE WILL HOLD ACCOUNTABLE FOR EVERYTHING THEY DO. THE GOVT HAS TO BE TRANSPARENT IN ORDER TO SATISFY EVERY MONKEY" What are you stupid?? YOUR SOLUTION IS NOT A FEASIBLE ONE AS ITS ASKING PEOPLE TO START A REVOLUTION AGAIN, IMMATURE BRAIN!! Too much of that toilet coffee running in your brains! Ok, Admitted the old fags who run the system are the ones bringing the country down, but what you're suggesting is NOT GONNA HAPPEN ANYTIME SOON. The experiment phase is over and we need to make do with what we have before there is an economic transition from a capitalist economy into a communist one. Once that happens, ask your other loved toliet-coffee drinkers to flee Nepal! For the current scenario, the King is the most feasible of all soultions after having witnessed all the shit that took place in the name of democracy. In the past 17 years of democracy, Gyane just got lil over a year to prove himself, simultaneously he had no support from the damn political parties at all (no wonder the maoists still surivived to tell their tales). How the hell was the bugger supposed to perfrom miracles on his own? 16 years of democracy sucked Nepal dry and we're still giving it a try when we know that its not gonna work and this time, Communism is a major threat and once its yoke is cast, Nepal is gonna be that way for decades! Who would have the balls to say/publish/go against the system?? As I've always procliamed, Go with the lesser evil and once the Maoists are taken care of, let the experimental phase begin!!

Katawal should be fired immediately! this SOB has a great deal of respect for the dictator GYANENDRA .these crooks are secretly planning a military coup in the near future. so,i don't understand why the government is not taking this seriously. This katuwal was a shepherd and was raised in the palace sothere's no way he'd turn his butt against GYANE.C'mon all you people in the government, punish these two crooks before it's too late...

Thanks for posting that cartoon,Gahugoro. Nice one by Rajesh KC :) A tempest in a tea cup perhaps or a shrewdly calculated political move on the part of some? Looks like the comrades have learnt the art of state-craft pretty quickly.
