Your family could be the next target. The maoists are moving very fast instilling a sense of fear across the capital with their exploitation and lootings. They have been gradually destroying the sense of security in the capital. Now that they have unfettered access to all establishments and households, they have been seeping into the everyday lives of people through plain exploitations. The law is playing deaf to all Maoist actions. After Maoists have come into the political mainstream, life in the capital is slowly turning into a state of lawlessness. Maoist cadres have been entering households and looting with the help of guns and knives. If anyone resists they get severely beaten up. These maoists looters mostly target well to do houses and enter in groups mostly at night. There have been some looting during the daytime as well but most of these victims do not report to the police for fear of more retaliation. The looters warn them not to report to the police otherwise they would come back to bomb their house. The maoists are trying to control business functions as well as seen in their attempts to close up different industries. There have been cases where they have physically attacked business owners for not doing as told. What kind of democracy is this? Gradually the maoists are seeping into the everyday life of the capital and that too not by popular demand but by forceful exploitation. Today one person's house gets robbed. Tomorrow another person's house gets robbed, but noone speaks out because of fear of retribution. One day it's going to be your house and believe me that day is not far. The victims consider them lucky to have gotten away without any physical injuries or with their lives intact. What about the emotional scar that they carry with them for the rest of their lives? Who is to blame for this? And who is going to take any action against these looters? Things are getting serious in the capital now. Every one who is a middle class or upper class is a target of these atrocities. The widespread tales of looting is mostly kept a secret but chances are you already know someone personally whose house has been robbed or exploited under the threat of lethal arms. I have always been raising a red flag to the coalition of Maoists with the SPA because once the Maoists got into the capital, things were not going to be good. But now it's too late for that, they are already in the capital and their exploitations have begun. What can be done now? What can we do now? We have to think of something before it's too late. We need to mobilize some kind of defense against these armed looters.

NEPRICANS in general have always thought that the king was behind anything bad that happens in nepal....and it comes to me as a huge surprise that the learned bunch of you think that actually it is the MAOIST who are creating this situtation today.......... sicne i do log on to sajha often and kept on reading the learned views of the neprican friends i had almost started to think that anything that happens bad to nepal or nepali the king without a doubt must be behind that.... u know the helicopter crash that happend in Nepal recently..i was thinking that the king and his "cronies" were behind that.... the land slide was becoz of the king... the poor nepalese guys who died in the US of A on a car crash was the doing of the king..... why is the king not the one behind all this today....... Nepal "DESERVES" maoists... and their kuni ke tantra........nepal deserves extreme communism today.....nepal deserves the brutality of maoists.... at the end of the day people only get the government that it deserves cause the govt at the end is formed by the people.....

Inform your family back home to not keep cash and or valuables at home. If they cannot resist with force the least they can do is stop Maoists from taking away their savings and liquid assets. Something needs to be done fast before the Maoists take full control of the capital. Any ideas?

LETS ASK THOSE SELF APPOINTED PEOPLE'S MOVEMENT SO CALLED LEADERS. LIKE NEPE, POONTANG, SAYAMI, PARAMENDRA ETC ETC Where the fug are these Bastards ? When sh*t hits fan, hide yer tail and hybernate till the sh*t clears. Its obvious that people that gathered in NYC-UN were looking for nothing but publicity. I THOUGHT POONTANG WAS GOING BACK TO NEPAL TO MAKE NEPAL A BETTER PLACE(he's been saying this for 5yrs he he he). All those people that were in NYC protesting should contribute financially.... so the Mao's would stop harrasing ordinary citizens. YOU WANTED THIS CHANGE, SO LETS PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS SHALL WE ?

Kathmandu, just day before yesterday. My cousin brother got kidnapped. He has a shop at Joche (Freak Street) He is running a small business of woolen sweaters. It is sad indeed that he got a call from the stranger pretending that they are interested in his business and would like to talk more about it. They called him at Bhimsensthan, met those people there and from there they went to there hotel at Sundhara where he got kidnapped. They showed the gun while in the hotel room and asked for the ransom amount of 5 lakh Rs. He managed to collect the money and to deliver the culprits. They were about 6-7 people. He has never seen those people in his life time. But he saw everybody's face. If anyone is interested to bring this issue in the media please let me know. It's been two days and nothing has been done so far after reporting to the police. If this keeps happening then we are going to loose the hope of dreaming Nepal as a peace zone. I have suggested my brother to not to back up. He is willing to come forward in the media and do the necessary thing so that the other people don't have to go through this situation again. Suggest me if there is any. Can we do something about this issue?

Back then, we used to read crime stories in Satya-Katha magazines from India (Bihar/UP/Bengal). I would not be surprised if Biharis are these days reading Satya-Katha magazines from Nepal.

This is getting ridiculous. I was talking to my mum last night and she said she had to come back home from tika really soon because they don't want to leave the home alone as there is so much of theft and looting going around. This has gotten out of hand and there is nothing we can do to stop other than writing down our frustrations here in Sajha. What the hell the police force is doing? They can't even stop this in Kathmandu, forget about the entire country. I can't imagine of those people who are living outside of the capital.

Who did not loot Nepal? The practice of religion and the entire culture taught how to loot. Let's throw out the very base of our fake identity first. Once we have no identity, no belief, no concept, no principle then we start loving each other unconditionally. The belief, the religion, the concept, the ieda have divided us.

Even a poet like Chhetra pratap Adhikari looted Nepal by writing poems on ....... Let's not only look at........we have to look at Dhamiro like Mr. Adhikari and destroy all his nonsense poems. Change the whole educational system. Bring awareness.

we (people from out side Valley) suffered exctaly this kind of s*it back in 2001-2004. why you think Kathmandu is densly populated around 2000-2004, why you think price of land in Valley was sky rocketing. Because people could not do anything about looting and shooting outside valley . They think it was safer inside the valley. which was true. Hope this will be solved soon. Other than that we can't do anything except ( Like someone said) write our frustration here on Sajha. Peace
