People have been guessing about the new Ambassador of Nepal to USA. But, I got a message from a reliable source that Mr Bhojraj Pokharel is getting this title.

Yes, Ganatantra, tell us a little more about this Bhojraj Pokharel guy? What's his background and qualifications?
I don't care who gets the post so long as he/she is qualified and does not get caught stealing books (like a Pancha ambassador some years ago) or DUI.
One a serious note,
I think the new ambassador should do one thing among others. I have heard that Nepali nationals studying or employed in the US have some problems with tax because Nepal does not have a tax treaty with the US govt. India and many other countries have it. How about pressing the new ambassador to take initiative on this?

I know one Bhojraj pokarel. He is a retired guy from post of home secretery more than five years ago. He used to live in Ghattehulo chowk. I don't know what he does these days.

May be I am wrong. There is another Pokharel guy retired from Home Ministry. His name is Padam Prasad Pokharel, who is also Govinda Raj Joshi's "Samdhi". When Joshi became home minister, Joshi made Mr. Pokharel Secretary for Home Ministry.

Later, sadly Both Joshi and Pokharel were arrested by CIAA. Both "Samdhi" spent months behind the bar on a [same] corruption charges....

I am not sure what Padam Pokharel is doing these days. I really hope Padam Pokharel is not becoming US ambassador!!

Yes you are right dumer. There is also Padam pokharel. Bhojraj retired before Padam.

They are both Khotange pokharels so they may be 10 dine dajubhai.

I am just wondering why you guys are guessing this and that. It doesn't look less than a Nepalese parliament. Such an attitude of favourism and clientalism make Nepal fall behind. It seems that Nepalese people are electing the Ambassdor with regard less to qualification and capabilities!..... what a rediculous matter...............

I know both of them, Both of them are Kharpali Pokharels. Padam Pokharel is not Samdhi to Gobinda raj Joshi.His daughter got married with a Khanal guy from tanahu. He was a police inspector that time. Once I went to Padam's house in Sinamangal, They were playing cards (marriage) 100 rupees a point. But Bhoj Raj Pokharel is not that type though.

pokhrael are awesome, the only surname with all kind of vitamin. I know some Kharpali Pokhrel and palpali pokhrels, man, they are sure thing. they make nepal revolve around. they are ass kicing intellegent, and bright. Some are nice but some dont even care a shit to others, they should change this attitude though. Bhojraj Pokharel and Padam pokharel, though related are absolutely opposite to each other with their visions and personality like sky to the ground. True story, Bhojraj pokharel is highly educated and diplomatically distinguiished individual among smart-heads. Padam Pokharel however is a true bone-head: One of the most corrupt individual among bunch of such Sinamangalese.

It is getting interesting. I still believe that Govinda Joshi and Padam Pokharel are Samdhi...Joshi’s youngest son married Padam Pokharel’s daughter.

I hail from Joshi's ancestral village [ward]. Not only Joshi, I used to know well to Joshi's father late Padam Raj Joshi. Padam Raj Joshi, who was Gorkha Parishad die-hard supporter -- a staunch supporter of notorious Bharat Samsher, who attempted to assassinate BP Koirala 2017.

Anyway, the Khanal guy you are talking is Sarbendra Khanal, Rabindra Khanal's brother. Rabindra Khanal was a member of past royal cabinet.

He was former Secretary for different ministires. Now he is working for an American INGO as Country Director. He was recommended for Election Commissnar in the past and Royal Palace has rejected him and appointed to Keshab Raj Rajbhandari because he is democratic person and he has proved this during this peoples protests. As he is already familiar with US Embassy/people and working procedures and he is democratic person and high level retired talented person, it is likely to be the new Ambassador to USA.

Sure, If you are missing something shaiva, let me add on to it. He was a country representative for South Asian Federation for W.H.O. ANd yes, he was on a American payroll, but does that make him any less qualified. Or you rather provoke and vote for our "Politicians of Congress" who are definitely on Indian Payroll.
