What a shame for Nepali People from Nepali People. Just read a news about the "Tribhuvan Salik being Collapsed in Butwal". Shame on people who did it. He was the one who gave us freedom from Ranas. We are the one who called him father of Nation and now when his statue is being collapsed we are talking as nothing happen. Looks like all nepali had gone crazy. Vandilizing own property, look like most nepali people (those doing andolan) are either gone crazy in the name of democracy or being paid by Netas to do andolan. Was heard from a fellow nepali from Nepal that "Corrupt" Netas were giving Rs.500 per day to person to start fight with cops. Wow what a andolan. Taking work from people, living people to sleep hungry, making students life difficult, wow what a andolan. How come nepali people never united to defeat maoist, how come nepali people never united to stop corruption? what happen when these netas were corrupting by making Nepal worst, example; 1) Sher Bd. Deuba (Ate all money of Melamchi Project) 2)Girija Pd. Koirala (Ate all money and stooped Arun Project) 3)Bam dev (make nations all golds to disaapear) 4) ETC. Now which of these People goona rule. WHat happens an then? Same andolan again and again. And people in US, why are you guys so focused to talk about things you even dont know. All people has gone crazy. may be Most nepali saw "Rang De Basanti" and went for protest. LIFE IS NOT A MOVIE. Jai Nepal. Jai Desh.

Hmmm... I would think long and hard before believing that Tribhuvan gave us democracy. I was not there but knowing how the royal propaganda machine works, I would be hardpressed to believe it as truth and 100% truth. There are several schools of thought on 2007 saal ko kranti. Some may believe King T staked his throne to rid the stranglehold of Ranas from Nepal. Then there are some who believe that King T fled, yes fled, and took refuge in Indian Embassy(shameful, but he had to do what he had to do) and then later in Delhi because he was too scared for his own life. In that line of thought, he was nothing but a coward who thought only for himself and later took the credit of being the carrier of democratic beacon. I don't know. As I said, I was not there. And there is very little analysis from those days. Country, being much ignorant and illiterate back then, took it as it was fed to them. Now, if one is to claim that King T brought in the democracy, along that same logic, one can also assert that his son, King M, took it away. And then, King B gave it back, but then, King G took it away. So, even with this logic, my question is: How long are we going to play this cat and mouse game? Are the essence of our lives - freedom, democracy - a commodity that can be given, taken and bartered upon according to the mood of one person and his cohorts? That is why, let us make our fate, let us be responsible for our future. As that famous line goes: For Us By Us One more time: REPUBLIC

It is hilarious that some people still think king t gave us democracy. He was coward! when ranas ordered him to sign the death sentences to four martyrs, he didn't even say a word of protest. Do you have any evidence that he supported, by any means, the ongoing anti rana movement of that time? Actually these Shahs should be grateful to Nepalese people that they earned them back their power. But they turned out to be most KRITAGHNA of the world! They made new alliance with ranas and strated opressing Nepalse people again.

its time we rise above all the false things that roylists taught us. we are so brainwashed by Mahendra mala education. All they taught us was that Kings are great. Who said Tribhuwan gave democracy???? Democracy Tribhuwan ko sampati ho? He ran away to India. Its nepali people who fought, its the sahids who gave their lives and we got "limited democracy" . It was a limited democracy coz Tribhuwan didnt agree to give sovereignity to people. Sovereignity was with King. And still people believe that Tribhuwan gave democracy. not ur fault, fault is with our royalist education- that has completely brainwashed us

That tribhuwan statue is in Golpark at Butwal and was destroyed last night, it was has been destroyed earlier too, once somebody burnt it and again they renovated it. Tribhuwan denied constitution assembly to people back then, though he fleed to India to help destablize Ranas. The statue was destroyed to mark end to shah Dynasty rule. They just vented their anger on that statue.

Hey Upendra, how old are you baby? I feel pity about your knowledge about King Tribhuwan. Democracy of 2007 was brought by people, not by him. Its King Tribhuwan who approved the execution of four martyrs-Ganga Lal, Shukra Raj, Dharmabhakta and Dashrath. As a king, he could protest or stop Ranas to kill those brave sons of Nepal. Its his culprit hand that signed on the final verdict of their execution. In front of Ranas, he was a scabbies ridden coward dog. When Ranas found that King Tribhuwan also had connection with the parties, he fled to Indian embassy and finally to India. He went in refuge of Jawaharlal Neharu and asked him to annexe Nepal. But Jawaharlal Neharu didn't find it appropriate to do so.The movement in Nepal got intensified and Ranas were compelled to step down. Its only after tri-partiac agreement, King Tribhuwan returned Nepal and assumed throne. So, you can say, these are the people who brought back the fled king and by this grace, the nation has got a famous king Gyanenra.

I don't consider Tribhuvan a radical or anti people king. He was in a different situation then. It is easy to say, now, what he should have done then. In his speech in 2007, Tribhuvan said, "...hamra prajako shasan aba upranta nijharule nirbachan gareko ek baidhanik sabhale tarjuma gareko janatantratmak bidhanko anusar hos bhanne ahile hamro ichha ra nirnaya bhayekole ....." the speech can be found in archives, if looked for, I think. I agree, Tribhuvan did not "give" demoracy but I doubt he was against it. Did we forget GPK, and MaKuNe doing darshan to Gyanendra (daam rakhera) at Hanuman Dhoka? Gyanendra ko ris gyanendra lai nai dekham na ... Tribhuvan, who is not even around to defend himself, lai kina?

It's not against gyne, mahe, or tire...It's against the corrupt, selfish and lier dynasty. History is always written by the victor therefore you never know, what actually happened or who said what then... but tell me what purpose did that statue serve ? Down with chor netas salik.... we don't need them...
