Sorry I fail to understand what you're trying to say... how can it be a national symbol when ordinary Nepalese people can't wear it? To me 'crown' is nothing but a very expensive and colourful cap filled with diamonds and jewels worn by a certain family who think the country belongs to them. ''Lot of people who were grown up in NEPAL would know exactly what I am refering too!! It a national pride!!!''.......SPEAK FOR YOURSELF MATE!

I do't think the CROWN is the national Identity so no need to be proud of it. France, Russia used to have the Crown too. But they never sticked with that as considering the national Identity. It is just a beautiful hat to make the king look diffrent. The identity is the country itself not the crown.

KICK well if you are saying that I gota speak for myself, I sure am doing that. I'm speak for myself as one Nepali citizen. Like I've said before. I don't know how to put it in exact words but yeah that crown is something that has been our symbol for centuries. just like the bald eagle for USA. You see crown everywhere, in every govt stamp we have, in our currency, and in your damn passport!!! I'm not hear to discuss what russia did or what french did but I'm just talkin as one nepali dude, just saying respect our national symbol. KICK, "To me 'crown' is nothing but a very expensive and colourful cap filled with diamonds and jewels worn by a certain family who think the country belongs to them." This is where I don't agree with you. Tho it is with Royals today...the crown actually belongs to the people of nepal and not just the royals....the royals are supposedly the preservers not the freaking owners!!!

With all due respect ,as the country is heading towards monarcy-less and corruption free enlightened state of Nepal the legacy of crown (shripench)should be preserved in the museum. I donot see a logic behind either glorifying or disrespecting a piece of jewelry."Shripench" is not and should remind us of our unity as a Nepali. Our love for each other despite our difference should be a symbol for our unity. "Shripench" should be placed in museums as a reminder for future generation Nepalese of how centuries old institution of monarchy too can crumble if one forgets to check his/her ego and love for power.Europeans have done that to remind themselves of dark days their history had to go through under mad medieval European kings. If it remains unpreserved outside antique division of Nepal's future museums it is sure to attract many who daydream about placing it in their head with whatever means they can.

izen I liked the way you responded. But, to all those people who thinks that it is just a piece of jewelry that is suppose to be in kings head, do me a favor..... THROW YOUR PASSPORT AWAY, TEAR EVERY PIECE OF NEPALI RUPEE THAT YOU HAVE, TELL ALL YOUR RELATIVES TO TEAR THE NEPALI RUPEE BACK HOME (it has those water stamp of the crown you see), TELL THEM TO THROW ALL THE LEGAL DOCUMENT THEY EVER HAD ... Why do you care about that symbol, why do you want it to be in the most valuable document of yours (ghar ko laal purja, paisa, passport, ani most important documents ever issued by government).......The day you can do that, you come talk to me....I'm ready to throw every damn thang that has SHREEPCH as a symbol, any damn piece of ducument that I ever owned....you think you can do that?? if not, learn to respect just about some little things we have still left to respect!!! peace

Nepalipoonte,...then are you saying that when royals go, 'crown' will remain for the people as it has been a Nepalese national symbol for centuries?? It's a freaking royal hat...get over it man. When royals go, 'crown' will go to museum as rightly suggested by izen.

cheers...I've taken your post above in it's literal sense. I hope you understand that 'crown' is there because of the royals and not vice versa. To be honest, to have this freaking royal hat in all of my important documents is a great source of embarrassment to me. As you can understand, I've been left with no choice but to carry them with gritted teeth for now. I remain optimistic however that the day will arrive when these important documents will have symbols which truly identify our national pride.

I wonder why there are so many posts in this thread? Is there anything to comment? Some royal ass kisser has shown us "poor Nepali" how majestic his "MALIK" is. For me it stinks of tyranny and mass murders of many centuries.

Let this joker play his part. However important he might think of himself, most nepalese hate him. His face is allergic to most. He is a great liar and most dangerous person. In my childhood, I heard that there would not be any monarchy in Nepal - it's so much likely now. Let this clown dance for sometimes. He is innocent - that's how nature created him and how he grew up.

sochne manchhe, u bring one point that he is king more by threat than respect... who dares say anything against him in nepal except few Netas?

MY point, sajhabusaima is to people who get so angry with the King as though they would do things differently were they to be in power. I want them to not just limit themselves in this cyber world, but to get off thier asses and do something constructive. No talk , all action. You might say what have you done? you'll know as things progresses and need all your help!

Didn't you hear about the time when the King had a car delivered to Kathmandu when there was no roads elsewhere? They have porters carry the car all the way to kathmandu from india.
