Kudos to KING Gyanendra!!!! Finally King played his trump card...Sacking Deuba government second time in 2 years and declaring state of emergency in the present context of crisis were not big news in itself!!!!! The big news We nepali wanted to hear about is the caputure of maoist supremos PRACHANDA?BABURAM...Now King should show the world about these captured maoists leaders and let nepali people decide what to do to them...I can't beleive that these maoists leaders are caught within 24 hours of royal proclaimation of self-rule!!! This indiactes that KING can bring peace & maintain peace and order in the country..If parties/people support him, definitely Nepal will see prosperous days in near future!

Well the maoist regional commanders, the local commanders and an average fighters dismissed Prachand and Baburams directives a long time ago. Maoist regional commanders have been fighting the war semi-independently. Probably, the only thing Prachanda and Baburam did was coordination between regional commanders and Indian Maoists. Even if Prachanda and Baburam were to be ever captured in the future the regional commanders will appoint a new political chiefs and the fight will go on. After all the Maoist have been replaceing leaders at various level of their high command after their capture or death so many times along the war in the last so many years. What RNA get is Prachanda and Baburam in thier possession as nothing more than a spent bullet. Probably RNA will get pissed off very badly by this fact if such thing ever happens.

It's true that the capture of PRACHANDA/BABURAM is not going to solve the current crisis..but at least it will weaken maoists' strength.... In the wake of weakened strentgh, maoists are likely to extend hands to the current political parties...Now we have to wait and see how these parties respond to maoists based on their previous activies..

Madhav Kumar Nepal, Grija Prasad Koirala and others are responsible for this mess. The Sahids who gave their lives to bring democracy in Nepal are crying in heaven right now. If Girija Koirla and Madhv Kumar Nepal are true leaders, तब तिनीहरुले अहिले यसै निमेषमा गृफ्तारी दिन सक्नु पर्छ । They have to, if they are true leaders, rally the people even from their नजरबन्द ।

Why KING G took executive power ? Reasons: Maoists wanted to talk to the KING only..Under normal conditions, King does not have executive power (enjoyed byelected prime-minister )...therefore, it makes sense that to start dialogue with maoists, KING has no option, but to take the power by himself..This is the truth and international community understand it.. That's why there has not been strong objection from international community regarding this royal take over.. Now if we want to see a stable nepal, then we should urge all political parties not to involve in politics for some period (practicing self-abstinence from politics) and see how the communication between the KING and maoists progress...I am sure this will pave new avenues for nepal..let us just wait for awhile more..but in the mean time, sucker political party figures, stop your dirty games and donot excite innocent people against themselves!! rather go to KASHI / tirthdhaam for a while...

ajsab01, as far as I remember, Maoists don't want a King or the monarch system in Nepal. Isn't that why they walked out during the peace talk last time? So, my question is how is the King going to bring peace in Nepal? Will Maoists come out and have a peace talk? If there a communist government in Nepal, there is no king and the king won't let that happen. So, which party (the king or the Maoists) will give up their agenda? Whatever happens, I pray to Lord pashupatinath that innocent Nepalese people won't lose their lives? God Bless Nepal and Nepalese people. Just a thought.....

Point to Ponder. when Girija was stopped, we saw riots in Nepal against the violation of his rights. Now, see the whole nation's rights has been snapped by King G. The democracy's plug has been pulled out. But no riots?????? What happened to those protesters (janatas) this time who came out for Girija those days????????

ajsab01: If you don't have something sensible to say, go find some other way to waste your time, rather than spitting your delusions as news at us. It's not a matter of free speech, as you say, but a matter of you deceiving and playing with emotions of people who visit this site. Juding by your posts, you may not care about what is happening in Nepal and may think amusing yourself by turning yourself into a chataki in Ratna Park is the best thing to do, but there are people in this forum who are genuinly concerned about the current state of things in Nepal and are desperate to learn more and understand the situation, myself included. Your hawadari posts just distracts all, plays with their emotions and wastes their time. No matter whether anybody supports the drastic action from the king wholehertedly, with reservations, or is outright against it, everybody is concerned about the safety of friends and relatives back in Nepal and of all the citizens in general. I myself got two anxious emails from two of my relatives back in Nepal, who managed to send emails through their work PC. The sense I get is that there is utter confusion and fear. One of the relatives who is firmly settled in Nepal and has never expressed much interest in going abroad thinks the country is headed to the absolute bottom of hell and asked me ways he can send some money abroad, so that he can use it if and when he manages to get the family out! He is not the paranoid kind and I am shocked by the level of panick I sense in his email. I know a Nepali woman who just came to Ohio for a 3-month visit to a university, who has been crying for days because after she got there she has not been able to contact her family back in Nepal because of the communication blackout. I would assume most visitors to Sajha have loved ones back in Nepal and are worried not only about their immediate safety, but about how the events will unfold in Nepal over next weeks and months. Sajha is one of the few places we can still share whatever little information we manage to get. You are doing all of us here a tremendous disservice by just muddying the water with your pointless posts. If you want to be a hawadari chataki joker, please find some other topic for your chataks. Seriously, I like hawadari kuras and jokes, but not they way you are doing it here and not when you have managed to find absolutely the wrong think to make fun of. I hope bhagwan sends some bibek your way.

Luckydude , i understand your point..but hey, that's what maoists r saying that they want to talk to king only..before feb 1, 2005, king did not entertain executive power officially..now he openly proclaimed that he has the power..so maoists better be prepared..come forward with yur agendas..even if it means to establish a republic, be open!!! i hope political parties shut up their activities till the dialoge between king and maoists get over..one day we will know the outcome, then everybody has things at stake - whether it's crown, ideology, soveireinity etc... i can speculate that king G is not scared of giving up power for the sake of nepalese people!!! the fact is that he wants to be revered in nepal's history as the king who gave to his countrymen what they wanted..even if it means giving up his throne, HE is GAME for that... People will be amazed to hear HOW that happened without any bloodshed...It happened coz our KING loves the lives of his countrymen.................... It's not forecast from Nastrodams...but hey....that's what written on the fate of mother NEPAL!!!!!

Rabi, what made u think that i am not sensible to what's going on in nepal...???I understand that everyone is anxious about what's going on back home..but what else we can do do excpt sharing our feelinngs here....our job right now is to inform people whatever we hear (whether authentic or not) from other sources via different means of communication..at least, posting the comments does not hurt, unless someone is making something out of it!!! as you said it correctly, we need to share the little information we get..don't u think that's what i am doing??? it's the job of readers to filter the authentic comments!!! maybe in the name of being the first to post comment on prachanda capture, i mistakenly made people feel negatively..but what if the info was genuine??? As a kid, you catch tadpole sometimes in the name of catching fish!!!
