KATHMANDU — The US President Donald Trump has shocked the world by his remark about few African nations and Nepal as the shithole countries. Yes, he is right, because Nepal is poor. And Nepal was a part of the Temporary Protected Status due to the 2015 earthquake.
At a time when the US Embassy in Nepal recently celebrated its 70 years in Nepal and the United States offering $500 million to Nepal, it is no surprise that Nepal is among Trump’s shithole countries in 2018.
According to The Washington Post, Trump said, “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” The Washington Post said that Trump was referring to Haiti, El Salvador, other African countries and Nepal too.
Moreover, Nepal should be certainly on the list of shithole countries as Nepalis haven’t contributed much to the United States. Oh, and we don’t have oil resources like the Middle East!
Trump also made it clear that he wants people from Norway. Trevor Noah couldn’t but make a show out of it.
