I have to renew my passport and today I found out that I lost my nagarikta card somewhere. Please suggest. Is it possible to apply for a new nagarikta without going back home Nepal? Is nagarikta required for passport renewal? I have a photocopy of my nagarikta though.

A copy of your citizenship should suffice as far as passport renewal is concerned. 

I lost my citizenship,  renewed my PP with copies . As long as you have copy no worries.

 Nepalizone, how long did it take your passport to get renewed? I submitted mine a couple weeks ago and I'm starting to get worried w/ holidays around the corner. 

It took me exactly 3 months to get my new passport. Some say it'll be little faster if you send the original citizenship card along with the application. Well in my case, I just sent them the copies.
