I think we have lots of dhoti/desi "pidit" in the US, AUS and all over besides an ever lasting historic anti-indian sentiment in general masses in Nepal. These kinds of incidents are indeed outrageous no matter where they happen. Did you guys forget an incident from last year when a very young nun was gang raped in eastern Nepal, and another gang rape by a public bus staff in Nepalgunj (?) few weeks ago? We have been hearing many such incidents of minor and even eldery women being raped in different parts of Nepal these days, I hope Indians or bollywood movies are not to be blamed as inspirations for such acts. LEGALIZING PROSTITUTION is the most civilized and rational solution, i believe. Ofcourse, there should be a provision of harsh pentaly for rapist.

BUT, democratic country  bhayera yesto bhayeko ho bhanera, govt can not just hang people infront of masses in stadium without giving a free and fair and trial like in MAHAN China. [to: ashisme jee]

About encroachment near borders, unequal treaty etc, I again blame Nepali politician and bureaucrats. They sit for a meeting/negotiation without proper and enough homework. Lacking a basic diplomatic skill and without a basic consensus among political parties with respect to major foreing relations agenda will always let our country remain in losing side.

 After cricket, gang rape is the biggest team sport in India now. Also what is distturbing is the doctor saying although she was raped and hurt, she suffered no mental trauma.  Now thats a doctor.

 I am constantly baffled by how much fury rapes (in India) create in sajha. While it is a huge problem in India more than anywhere else, I feel like we tend to trivialize rapes in general by bringing about issues of nationality and our (the generic our) "hate" for India. Steubenville rape case, Seattle sexual assault ...there are so many other cases happening all around.

I apologize for restarting the "we are no better" argument, but it is an important one, IMO. 

Also, Ashishme, will you tell me how democracy is even remotely related to rapes?
