Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal was sworn in amid a ceremony at Shital Niwas, the office of the President, Monday afternoon.

President Dr Ram Baran Yadav administered him oath of office and secrecy. He took oath "in the name the people".

Breaking the long-held tradition, PM Dahal attended his swearing-in ceremony wearing a western suit and Bhadgaule topi instead of the traditional 'national dress' Daura Suruwal and 'Nepali topi'.

Earlier today, a central committee meeting of Maoist party held at its parliamentary office in Singha Durbar had taken the decision on the PM's outfit.

Vice President Parmananda Jha, CA chairman Subas Nemwang and heads of foreign diplomatic missions were also present at the PM's swearing ceremony.

those who sworn in previously in daura suruwal and dhaka topi did any better?  atleast he is trying to tell the world that he is civilized now rather than junglized by appearing in tie suit. And another good move ...he is visiting China first rather than India . I wish you all the very best prachanda.Its payback time for you ..you need to rebuild the reputation, and infrastructures of the country that you have destroyed during the war.

My precious suggestion to dumb (home and abroad) Nepaliz is:

let oneness rule ya mind. Instead of spending ya energy in nepali or beehary language, watever dress; shatter down all ya mental barriers , come close to oneness. Cant you see da world wearing shirt pant n coat n tie, cant u pricks hear every one speakin in english? I think dat dude did a gud job.

let doz beeharys try impose deir language. I wud rather you suggest people learn english language, computer language, guitar language. i reckon dat makes sense. See da future.
