the ISOA plan for international students is pretty cheap. I have been using it for 3 years. I use the Compass Silver plan. Haven't had to go see a doctor yet so not sure about coverage issues but my school accepts it. Here is the link: http://www.isoa.org/?gclid=COntlpGejJQCFQOIFQodwHahWw

I am not sure if it works for OPT status but their requirement seems to be F1 or J1 visa. I would call them up to make sure though.

Are you sure schools accept this insurance? In my school it's like $852/semester. If my school accepts this insurance, i would be a lot easier.

I am planning to buy health insurance for my parents when they visit US. Does anyone have any experience? From the search I have done, the premiums are quite high and coverage is lousy.

Better change your insurance asap. I had OSHA when I was in school, I was pretty happy thinking that i had one but later when i had to go to doctors they paid only small amoune like 30% of the entire bill lets say I paid 900 and they paid 300. It was much less than the annual premium.
Make sure i had same plans like you have they will never pay more that $300 for Hospital visit and $50 for doctor which you will not find anywhere in US.
Call your Insurance and know the details.
I had a bad time so just wanna let you know.
Best of Luck!!

Nepali Thita, Is OSHA the same as ISOA? I have ISOA. Anyways, regarding the ISOA insurance, I don't think ISOA is that bad......a lot of international kids in my school have it. And, when one of my friends got drunk, passed out in the bathroom, had to call the RA and Emergency........to make long story short, he was taken to the hospital and given care for the night. ISOA covered everything. So, I say it's not that bad. I don't know the full coverage though. Ignorance truly has been a bliss so far! Gogol, I had a similar problem. My school's health insurance is close to 2000 bucks a year and that's why I decided to opt for the ISOA. It is around $400 a year, which is way cheaper. May be a poor choice if I get sick or injured but I ain't spending $2000 on fu**ing health insurance! Peace.

Fortunefaded, thanks for the information. When I checked the site, it was relatively cheaper for ppl under 24, but for ppl over 24, it was rather expensive. Do you have information about other service providers? Thanks in advance.
