Guys,
Just want to share! the 14th ammendment of US constitution guarentee the rights of all the lawful resident of US. Then wondering how can USCIS pass such rule for only STEM and deny the rest!
Anybody from law background, want to make a case and file lawsuit??
FYI
U.S. Constitution: Fourteenth Amendment
Section. 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

I think the jurisdiction of the fourteenth amendment doesn't come into the action, as it states
"All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside"
The statement take cares of citizen's only I guess.

so...........its 'ok' to discriminate against the people from different country. I dont think 14th amendment is that dumb.
Legally, there might be some loophole to justify their decision.............but for normal conscience, its an unfair discrimination.
Or, maybe its not?

Well " Equal oppurtunity" according to US law -means you can not discriminate/deny people on the basis of nationality, language, gender and disabilty and so on So, is not this a denial/ and discrimination for those who does not fall under STEM category??
Exaclty SAJHA FAN, since we are paying taxes as a resident, how can they deny the "equal protection"-as guarenteed by constitution. " WE ALSO ARE TAX PAYERS"
Lately, there was a lawsuit file by an illegal immigrantsto the police of NY ( i guess) citing the " equal protection/oppurtunity" guarenteed by the same act. Again I am not a law expert!
SO JUST CURIOUS AGAIN!

lol...I can't stop laughing at the comments. US is not doing this to favor these people with STEM degrees. US is doing this to give itself an advantage over other nations. Every nation tries to keep the best and the most demanded people and thats what US is trying to do. They don't need more sociologists, economists or business majors. There are plenty of them out there. They need more people from IT sector, math n science. So, all they are doing is trying to address the needs of the nation. It was mostly the IT sector that lobbied all the way to get these extensions and here they are....

Stem, leaves and roots everybody should get an equal opportunity. If stem is more capable then he will flourish.............but still...........everybody should get an equal opportunity.
