hey how to start if possible without lawyer for greencard,,,am a student and my wife is is citizens,,we recently got married for paper,,but we dont live together,,we in different state,,so please help me to file a greencard for me,,step by step.

Ye, without hiring lawyer you cannot get success. Hire lawyer. 100 percent you will be deceited by that woman because paper marrige is the tough for obtaining green card. Eventually she will demand too much money and refuse to go to the interview and will not help whenever you need. In the interview INS will ask too many questions. If cacnot fullfill her demand, anytime you will get trouble. You choose really wrong way for having the green card. Afterall you will loose money and noting will be on your hand. So you have already decided on that, think and try to hire lawyer, Lawyer can help you little bit. Otherwise you will get problem. I know some people have been deported after failing paper marrige. If INS finds, you guies have fake marring and trying to have green card through that way, you will be deported. man. Why and how you choose such risk path to obtain green card. There are so many good option rather than paper marrige. Consult with the lawyer on that. You trying to save money without hiring lawyer, that will be too cost for you and in the future it will make you repent.

If you hire a lawyer and tell him that your marriage is fake, he will not represent you. Not only that he might even report you to the CIS for committing fraud.

Since you're already maried, now file the necessary paperwork by yourself. I think you will save thousands of dollars and your chance of success are probably the same with or without a lawyer. If you can read/write english and can follow directions, I would skip the lawyer.

You can file I-130, I-485, I-765 all together and you need to send it to the Chicago Lock Box I beleive. Just follow instructions on that and send it out.

You will be asked for an interview, so on the interview you need to provide proof of your relationship being bona fied. Pictures, lease agreements, joint accounts, utilities etc are needed. So before you file make sure you can produce such documents and since you are living in different states, I would recommend you move.

Also be able to explain any inconsistencies without hesitation. Your confidence level is what counts, they dont have a lie detector, how you react to questions and your general attitude is what they go by.
