The so called popular iPhone costs a mere $280.83 to make for a 8 GB version and sells for $599 and $245.83 to make for the 4 GB version which sells for $499.00... talk about profit/ "iCash"

They will use this profit money to make the future iphones cheaper and iphone2...

I think there are a lot of overhead costs and hidden costs that one needs to consider. Like any for-profit business Apple is there to make money and need the profits to sustain in the market. They also do spend a lot of money on marketing and promotions. Also, like someone mentioned above, the profits go on to research and make better products that are passed on to the consumer. Therefore I think the costs above are very much justifiable...

Let me tell you a story about the cost ,as i remember,

A printing press breaks down and all the workers couldn't figure out what has gone wrong with press. They spend hours searching to find the problem.then finally they call Pressing engineer and the engineer comes fixes one nut and bolt of certain part and the press starts running again.The press owner asks how much ?The engineer replies 100rs .surprised by the cost of the repair , Then the owner asks but that nut and bolt just cost 1 rupee.Yes, the engineer replies but where to fix nut and bolt costs other 99 rupees.




Don't just add cost of the hardware :) It is the cost of idea , the knowledge

Good point there...ImI. It's about the idea and all the hard work and knowledge of the engineers and the researchers...that's what the end-user pays for as well.

the price is for their idea ..why did not the ppl (if any) bragging for high price of iphone they produce it then?
