The hardest part is sticking to the vegan regimen. I went vegan from Jan 2006 to Sept 2006 and felt the fittest I'd ever been in years. However, living in NY where you're invited for dinner every other day to another Nep's house, it gets a lil tough. For most Neps, meat dishes are what you offer to guests to make the meal more enjoyable (even back home, meat and alcohol are what makes a "bhoj")..I was forced to eat dal-bhat with the curry aroma in the air (that just made me more pissed). And also, going out to Indian wasn't an option either. The damn Indian restaurants put milk products in everything (including veggies!!), so it really got annoying. Finally, like how I quit smoking for a year, hunger, rage and temptation got the better of me and here I am eating more meat than I ever did before! hahaha

As much as I feel like a jerk to be saying this, but theres no denying to the fact that somebodys gotta die for the other to live. Its a constant process, its just a matter of who has the upper hand. In the jungle carnivores have the upperhand, in the civilized world, humans have the upper hand. Just like Darwin said "struggle for existence"!! At the same time, think of what will happen to the balance of ecosystem if we didn't consume other animals. Think of what will happen if lions and tigers started chewing grass..... think of the over population of our "food" animals if they are not eaten up. I love meat, I eat meat bihaana, diuso, saanjha, beluki... all the time, why not??? We eat whatever is in easy supply and edible. You might say its causing pain to the animals but would you like it the other way around then?
