Group surrenders weapons
Nawalparasi, 8 May: Groups in several villages united to fight Maoists in the southern part of the districts surrendered their weapons to the local administration Saturday, Nepal Samacharpatra reports.

Group chief Munna Khan said they surrendered all weapons to police extending support to the present popular government.

One week ago, a dozen locals from Bhujhawa gave up their weapons to Maoists through their families and surrendered themselves to Maoists.

Ten persons were killed in clashes between Maoists and the groups fighting Maoists in three years terrorizing thousands of people.

Why should a group which was formed by villagers to protect themselves against Maoists surrender to Maoists. They must have feared their lives when Maoists are coming out openly that also with the support of the govt. It's so sad that in Nepal demons are rising.

U know the more shameful story .. the goverment encouraging people to take up arms against the maoists.. i thought the foremost duty of the goverment is to protect the citizens.. (I was refering to previous govt. yet to see what and how this goverment does)

Hey stupid Maoist bisway-- it was not the govt who armed them. They armed themselves to protect themselves. I'm from Rupandehi and I know. The govt never can provide individual security. But now even that people cannot do.
