What is the current status of the much touted 6 lane highway being constructed in Kathmandu/Bhatkapur? Any progress thus far? Any photo of constructions?

Unfortunately construction has been post ponded for indifinte time. But survey, maping and other works are been going on smothly.

There were some people who filed a case against the government for not getting right reimburishment for their land. Until the court decides who is right and if the government has to pay extra $$ to those few land owners then only construction will start.

And u guys know how slow our court procedure is in Nepal!!!

Do some research in google and other Nepali news paper...u guys will find shocking news about this case and six lane highway.

I hope Japanese governemnt wont get tired of all those shit and give up evrything like Chinese did in Uppalo Ring road.

New tradition has developed in Nepal. Je kura ma pani birodh garnu parne....Another example is Pashupatinath.

Few weeks ago I heard that there were some protest and chakka jam by locals against the plan (or obstructing the construction !).

oh lord this project also fell t prey to nepali tendency of being late and getting embroiled with things. hope they get issues straightened out and refocus on building this road. chinese backed out because certain residents complained? in a way, iam happy that upper ring road did not materialize since if it had it, would have destroyied the beauty of the hills surrounding ktm valley. less road in and around ktm better, but we need some really good wider highways linking a and b.
