A friend of mine forwarded this email to me which he got from somebody in Nigeria.

Good day,

I am Mr.Omar Bongo,i trained and work as an external auditor for  Wema Bank (WB)
Nigeria, working as part of a bigger team that covers the entire African region.

An investor,a nationality of your country died without naming a next of kin to  his fund in our bank. The amount in question is  $7.5M and banking regulation/legislation in Nigeria demand that I notify the fiscal authorities after a statutory time. The above set of facts underscores my reason of  writing and making the following proposing to present you as the next of kin.You will read more stories  about the crash on visiting this  website:
www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/africa/12/26/benin.crash/

I have all the legal and Banking details of my deceased client that will facilitate our putting you forward as  the claimant/beneficiary of the funds and ultimately transfer the money to any bank account nominated by you.I am prepared to compensate you with a 40% share of the total funds for your efforts. The final details will be given upon receipt an affirmation of your desire to participate.

Please contact me immediately whether or not you are interested in this deal.If you are not,it will enable me scout for another foreign partner to carry out this deal. But where you are interested, contact me through my email address below for more details as time is of the essence in this transaction.

Thank you,

Mr. Omar Bongo

And this is my friend's response

Good day Mr. Bongo,

I am glad that you chose me as the beneficiary for this transaction. I am not sure if the investor was from my country and that may cause difficulty along the process. Could you please give me the name of the deceased investor and his nationality so that I can confirm he is from my country and proceed with further process?

Thank you

Friend's reply:

Mr. Bongo,

Thank you for the quick response. If you can provide me with late David's last name (surname) and the nationality, I would be more assured of this process. I have one more question for you. Why aren't you using your office email instead of using yahoo Australia?

Waiting for your reply.

Immediate reply was:

Mr. Bongo,

In your first email you said the deceased is from my country. Since he's from Mexico, I can assure you that he is not related to me in any way. His last name does not match to mine or anybody I know.Having said that, I don't think this transaction is gonna go any further (I will not be qualified as the next of kin).

Bongo won't give up:

Dear ……,

Thanks for the email and note that you are to stand as the beneficiary to the deceased.Hence he is not from your country, you as a foreigner can stand as a next of kin to the deceased.Be informed that a Nigerian cannot stand as a next of kin to the deceased person and that was the reason why i contacted you in this.

In fact,i would have done this ,but as a civil servant(BANKER) we are not allow to operate a foreign account. If i must do this alone it will raise an eyebrow on my side.

On the second thought ,you are fully qualify to stand as the beneficiary to the deceased .Simply adhere to my directives.

I await to hear from your subsequent correspondence in this matter.

Your friend in trust.

Omar.

Mr. Bongo,

What kind of cooperation do you need from my side in order to make this transaction happen? Please clearify in details.

No doubt a funny exchange.

Last time I got similar email, this is the information I gave:

Name: Ashky Icker

Address: 26 Federal Plaza, 23rd. Floor
New York, New York 10278-0004

Phone: 212-384-1000

The above phone and address were for FBI in New York. The guy replied to me saying he will contact me ASAP. I didn't hear back from him since.

The only problem was I started getting more and more spams
