'वायरलेस' महावीर

भारतीय सेनाका रिटायर्ड लाहुरे बाबुले घरखेत बेचेर महावीर पुनलाई पढाएका थिए। त्यसैले काठमाडौँबाट आईएस्सी सकेर उनले म्याग्दी, नागीं गाउँ गई त्यहाँको पुरानो स्कूललाई पुनर्जीवन दिए। त्यही सिलसिलामा अमेरिकाको नेब्रास्कास्थित विश्वविद्यालयबाट दुईपटक छात्रवृत्ति पाएर स्नातक र स्नातकोत्तर गरेपनि महावीर कतै नअलमलिएर सीधै गाउँ नै फर्के। आफू र आफ्नो गाउँलाई अहिले अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय चर्चामा पुर्‍याएका छन्, पुनले। काठको बाकसमा कम्प्युटर सञ्चालन गरेर अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय चर्चा पाएका पुनको सृजनशील स्वभाव, त्यतिमा कसरी खुम्चिन्थ्यो! पाँच वर्षको अवधिमा उनले नेपाल वायरलेस प्रोजेक्टमार्फत् रु.२० लाख जति खर्चेर म्याग्दी, पर्वत र आसपासका २२ वटा गाउँमा इन्टरनेट र कम्प्युटर पुर्‍याएका छन्। वायरलेस नेटवर्कमार्फत् पोखराबाट ल्याएको एकलाइन टेलिफोन करीब १५ गाउँमा विस्तार भएको छ।

नेटवर्क र इन्टरनेटमार्फत् ती गाउँहरूमा स्थानीय उत्पादन, वस्तुभाउ, कार्यक्रम र हाटबजारबारे जानकारी आदानप्रदान भएको देख्दा मन रोमाञ्चित हुन्छ। नेटवर्क कनेक्सनमार्फत् पोखरास्थित ओम हस्पिटलका डाक्टरहरूले पालै–पालो ८ वटा गाउँका बिरामीलाई इ–मेडिसिनमार्फत् औषधि उपचार गर्छन्। 'यस्तै नेटवर्क गरिदिनु पर्‍यो' भन्दै पाल्पा, गोरखा र मुस्ताङवासीले समेत महावीरलाई आग्रह गरिरहेका छन्।


रूखमा एण्टेना झुण्ड्याएर गाउँ–गाउँमा पुर्‍याइएको 'वायरलेस' कनेक्सन।
तर बिडम्वना, संसारभर खुला प्रयोग गर्न मिल्ने वायरलेस फ्रिक्वेन्सी सम्बन्धी कानून नेपालमा नभएकोले ती कामले मान्यता पाएका छैनन्। किनकि रेडियो ऐनले वायरलेस प्रयोग निर्धारित गर्दछ। '५० वर्षअघिको नियमले २१ औँ शताव्दीको प्रविधिलाई कसरी नियमन गर्छ?' भन्दै मन्त्रालय लगायतका सरोकारवाला कहाँ उनी धेरै धाइसकेका छन्। तर काम भएको छैन। झण्डै महिना दिनको राजधानी दौडधुपले महावीर विरामी पनि परे। “नयाँ नेपाल बनाउन भनेर लागेको, त्यतिकै कहाँ सजिलो होला र!” उनी भन्छन्।

नत्र म्याग्दीको हिमाञ्चल माध्यमिक विद्यालयको तर्फबाट गाउँ–गाउँमा विस्तार भएको इन्टरनेट र संचारको चर्चा स्कटल्याण्डको संसदमा किन हुन्थ्यो? त्यहाँका सांसदहरूले 'हामीले किन गर्न नसक्ने त्यस्तो काम?' भन्दै नागींको उदाहरण पेश गरेका थिए। राजनीतिज्ञहरूले नयाँ नेपालको खाका कोरिरहेका बेला पाँच वर्षअघि नै त्यो अभियानमा नारिएका महावीरको कुरा प्रतिनिधिसभाले पनि सुनिदिए हौसला जाग्थ्यो कि!

P.S. imi i am not a hypocrite...i am what i am ....no hassle no tricks-- one piece, one mind and one heart that thinks, dreams and hopefully will contribute to democratic nepal...hehe..:P

hey btw when are you going???you just have 1 year left for your school rite??then what you need to work here for 5 years then you need to get MBA that is another 2-3 years .Then your wife and kids don't want to go..

no i don't think i will leave any loopholes on my part that will dictate me to spit at the sky hehe..if i ever have to spit at the sky, by the time it comes back i would be long gone from the place hehe...

and no i am not going for MBA. what i am doing right now should suffice the requirement to be able to contribute to nepal.

and if my wife and kids don't want to go back along with me, then i would be like 6 months in nepal and 6 months in US hehe..:P...that option will work even better to transform the technology from here to nepal...:). sounds like a plan haina? hehe..:P
