I am going to Ktm for about 3 months in Sep. I am NOT from Ktm and don't know much other than what I have heard from others, i.e. Thamel, Durbar Marg, Cassino etc. I wil be there for a work; but I like to make most of it while I am there. I am single, and have been living in England for 20 years. I have missed Nepal and Nepali way of life, you know what I mean, gaf-saf, dohori, sura -suri etc. If you know some good place to visit and things to do, I would be grateful for your advice. Also I am happy to post you 'light items' i.e. books either from UK or Nepal if you need any. No sukuti, khursaniko achar or gundruk please! Yours, Jhamjham Pareli

Well if this is your first visit ever, or in a long-time, you might want to do the standard tourist platter of Pashupati, Swayabhu, Bhaktapur, Patan, Dhulikehel, Nagarkot .There's also lots to explore around Thamel and Kathmandu city itself. Two restaurants I found pretty amusing were Jatra and Orleans - both in Thamel. I wouldn't be able to give you much advice on dohori and the more traditional entertainment forms - I am not sure Kathmandu has very many good places for that (but others on Sajha might know). Hope you have a good time in Nepal!

Be sure to post Maobaadi flag as well cuz it appears that it has almost become just another symbol of national identity by now.
