It wont have your claim according to the current rule. You can get nrn card and earn property but when you take foreign citizenship you are not Nepali citizen as of then and non Nepali citizens cant won or inherit property in Nepal.

Legally it wont belong to you , but practically other Nepalis have figured out their ways to do everything they need to do with their good old nagirikta keeping their mouth shut , but that is illegal per Nepali govt.

It is like choosing between your piece of land or US Citizenship. Please take one whichever you feel is more valuable. This is as per the current Nepali regulation.

Non Resident Nepalese (NRN) can purchase land and house in Nepal
As per the recent regulation passed by the Council of Minister, NRN can purchase land and house in Nepal. NRN can purchase two Ropanis of land within Kathmandu valley eight Kattha of land/house within the municipality of Terai Region. They are only allowed to procure land/house/apartment for their own purposes.

“This is a welcome decision and it has fulfilled our long-standing demand to open the sector for NRN buyers,” said Ichchha Raj Tamang, president of Nepal Land and Housing Developers´ Association (NLHDA)

Citing the investment this will bring into the sector, developers had demanded that the government allow all overseas buyers to own apartments in Nepal. The government, however, has responded positively with regard to NRNs only.

Rockb, nrn card holders can buy , yes they have to show their nrn card and fill out some forms as nrn. Note this only applies when the nrn is buying land after having the nrn card. but what about the land already owned when the nrn card holder was a Nepali or say their inherited land when the card holder was a Nepali, is the question here.

I see that some of the posts are old. Just trying to get the latest information :
1. Can a foreign citizen of Nepalese origin, can own ( buy) or sell immovable properties such as land or house, without getting a NRN card?
2. Can a foreign citizen of Nepalese origin inherit properties?
