Hi, I took a break this semester and my break ends tomorrow. Do I have 60 days of grace period to transfer my SEVIS ? Please let me know how does this work because my advisors say different things.

Hello friends, Keeping the thread alive and I also have an update. My advisor had told me once my semester break ends, I will have 60 days of grace period to transfer. But now they are telling that I have to enroll classes and then I will get 60 days. Now, I have to join a university asap. Can I join kaplan to save my status? Please share your suggestions

Continue at the same school for one more semester. That would be the simplest way to ensure you have your status maintained. or Talk to DSO from the school you intend to enroll and ask what they think can be done. Ultimately your current advisor makes the decision on your status. If you cannot transfer, go to current school and then take the 60 days grace time to enroll on the next school. Then once you get transfer i20 from the school, you will have another 90 days to start your classes. Use this time to make some money.
