I am learning T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS. I am not sure how much it covers for DBA or Developer. Do you have a recommendation whether to focus on DBA or Developer for someone like me who is newly joining IT?

I think you should start as a developer as a DBA role comes with a lot of responsibilities. As a developer you will learn the tool and get some experience. But from what you are learning, I think your are leaning towards the DBA role. Are you learning this because someone is promising you a job on that field or you are just testing waters ?

I heard SQL Server has scope and learning on my own. I google and find these materials like techbrothersit.com. I want to go for developer role. Can you share the topics for the developer role? I hope other people also may benefit from this thread.

Start with SQL Developer or Report(SSRS) Developer. Then learn SSIS and SSAS. most of sql developer position looks for SSRS and SSIS combo.
