While I felt bad for the dude, I cannot sympathize too much because of the fake experiences in his resume. Sure, his consulting firm put them in, but not without his consent.
I left IT because of these fake experiences I had to compete with. One of the programming was developed like 4 years ago, and there was this bloke with 5 years of experience in the same programming. Employers cannot identify these fake entries, and since resume act as a filter, the honest ones were getting rejected despite having knowledge and experience of the subject matter...more than the fake ones in most cases.
Saying you know this and that programming is one thing, saying I have actually worked this many years in this programming falsely is another.

I am thinking if they put fake exp in resume and jobs getting done here and pay tax, why should they fear deportation.

See a US guy caught outsourcing his work, what do you say abt that?

US employee 'outsourced job to China'

Man with computer The employee spent a nine-to-five workday surfing the internet

Related Stories

A security check on a US company has reportedly revealed one of its staff was outsourcing his work to China.

The software developer, in his 40s, is thought to have spent his workdays surfing the web, watching cat videos on YouTube and browsing Reddit and eBay.

He reportedly paid just a fifth of his six-figure salary to a company based in Shenyang to do his job.

Operator Verizon says the scam came to light after the US firm asked it for an audit, suspecting a security breach.

According to Andrew Valentine, of Verizon, the infrastructure company requested the operator's risk team last year to investigate some anomalous activity on its virtual private network (VPN) logs.

"This organisation had been slowly moving toward a more telecommuting oriented workforce, and they had therefore started to allow their developers to work from home on certain days. In order to accomplish this, they'd set up a fairly standard VPN concentrator approximately two years prior to our receiving their call," he was quoted as saying on an internet security website.

The company had discovered the existence of an open and active VPN connection from Shenyang to the employee's workstation that went back months, Mr Valentine said.

And it had then called on Verizon to look into what it had suspected had been malware used to route confidential information from the company to China.

"Central to the investigation was the employee himself, the person whose credentials had been used to initiate and maintain a VPN connection from China," said Mr Valentine.

Further investigation of the employee's computer had revealed hundreds of PDF documents of invoices from the Shenyang contractor, he added.

The employee, an "inoffensive and quiet" but talented man versed in several programming languages, "spent less than one fifth of his six-figure salary for a Chinese firm to do his job for him", Mr Valentine said.

"Authentication was no problem. He physically FedExed his RSA [security] token to China so that the third-party contractor could log-in under his credentials during the workday. It would appear that he was working an average nine-to-five work day," he added.

"Evidence even suggested he had the same scam going across multiple companies in the area. All told, it looked like he earned several hundred thousand dollars a year, and only had to pay the Chinese consulting firm about $50,000 (£31,270) annually."

The employee no longer worked at the firm, Mr Valentine said.

Kiddo said "I left IT because of these fake experiences I had to compete with."
Kiddo I can understand your pain but I could not help but ask you this question. What do you do for a living then?  This is purely out of curiosity rather than anything else. You can ignore my question if I am being too nosy here but I was surprised when most of the other majors are diving into IT, how do you manage to get away from it. Sometimes, I wonder if this IT thing is a big bubble like the housing market and when corporations start to outsource jobs, it is going to create another meltdown.

Junky
I had similar thoughts and this was 10 years ago. Aside from the reason I gave above, I was also concerned that in the future not many programmers will be required. 4G programming and software like Visual Basic (at that time) were making the job more and more automated and easier. I thought after 10 years we will have very low number of actual programmers left.
While I think there are proportionately very less number of programmers left who do core level progamming these days (actual C, C++ and Java..not talking about assembly language here); I was wrong about the IT aspect. Specially, security and networking has gotten even better than what it used to be.

Anyway, I am no longer in the field and am in management field now, without going too much into it.

programming is so boring , only recent grad student will love to do it

its not appealing once u climb the ladder, i think that might happen to the guy who outsourced the job to china, ppl genreally move to management level once u hve exp,
and to question regarding deportation, it happened mostly in chicago but it also happened in newyork, los angeles and new jersey and portland too.
