Asking question is good but prejudging other's religion is bad and i think it goes to Andrew as well.
Just because you do not believe in any one religion does not mean that i feel the same thing. And just because i believe in a religion does not mean that i am a fanatic.

Even if i am a fanatic, there are many good fanatics in the world who beleived in their religion, can't you see??? YOu proclaim to be modern, very open minded but then why is it that if i tell you i completely beleive in religion, then it becomes your problem??? I erally cannot get that at all.

The Iranian lady who received Nobel peace prize beleived in her religion and was fanatic but for the good cause, Mother Teresa was a fanatic and beleived in her religion and in a good way and similarly, i think Mahatma Gandhi was a fanatic but in a good way. What is wrong in beleiving in what you do.

If i had told that i beleived in vegetarinism and do not like people who ear meat infront of me, then you would not have minded at all, even though you would go and eat meat like you said...but why do you get headache if i say i believe in a religion and in my god. I really cannot understand the point.

For the rest: I do not believe in a religion because you would approve of me, i really do not care actually, i beleive in a religion because i feel that is the truth for me and you can also go and believe in something that you feel is the truth. Even being aethist is believing in something by the way..

For Newuser: Whoever beleives in Jesus Christ and accpets him as their personal saviour is a christian no matter where he belongs or where he goes and rest are not christians. That is the primary philosophy of Christianity.
Also we have only one Bible- THE HOLY BIBLE and you can fine it anywhere and it has 66 books both new and old testament

PHEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! I can't believe I just finished reading all that. wow.. took me more than half n hr, 37 minutes to be precise. But I found it quite interesting.. Actually I am kinda tired talking about the same thing everywhere since I go to a Christian college. But it was interesting reading Nepalese view on this.

As for me, going to a Christian college has actually made me think about my beliefs and I have found out that I believe in no God, I am an atheist and I get into long discussions with a lot of my friends which can be pretty frustrating at times. People have told me numerous times that they are worried that I am gonna end up in hell though they think I am such a good person but because I don't believe in God, actually their God - Jesus Christ, I will go to hell. But I don't give a sh*t about that. I can't believe how people can be so stupid. Let them believe that I will go to hell when I don't believe there is a hell. Sometimes I wish I hadn't come to this Christian college, but I got only 2 more years to go, so I think i can make it. But guess what, my roommate converted to Buddhism from Christianity after she met me. Of all the religions, I think Buddhism is the closest to what I believe in. So that makes my life a little better :)

I believe in a religion called brotherhood of mankind. I almost accidently typed "manhood".....lol.

I do not believe in any religion which cites Krishna gets away with extra marital affairs or shiva gets high on weed, I also do not believe in a religion where people believe jesus is god and he walks on water. I despise Quran for instigating a so called holy war which has resulted millions of deaths in the past.

I know little about Jewish religion, never been to senagog. But yes..if given a choice I would embrace buddhism because the most silent god (if that is godhood at all) was the greatest philosopher of all times.

If you can evolve from within and have become human - that is if you know from your heart that how to live together, help each other, love each other as humanly as you can; and know how important is the freedom to allow oneself to see, feel, speek, understand and think without FEAR of any known or unknown TYRANT then you do not need to have any religion of what so ever.................

All religion if you do deep with give you and teach you to discipline yuor life and helps you live better. But then we become lazy and do not want to go inside and do not want to beleive and live our own life and reach nowhere.

I think a religion is necessary just to give a sense of discipline to our lives. It is like parents helping their children. in the long run, it will bear fruit.

Thats impossible! If you dont have any set rules to live by of course you cannot determine right from wrong. People now days dont believe in morality and just think anything goes. With a religion there is an absolute truth you believe in. Without any core beliefs there really is no right or wrong because you dont believe in anything.

yes I understand the BIble, yes it applies to my daily life, yes it is logical and practical. And yes I happen to believe if you do not believe in the Lord jesus Christ and follow Him and are forgiven of your sins you will go to Hell.

These are beliefs, if you dont agree then its your choice. Everyone has a right to believe anything.

As for Moses being a mass murderer? no he was a murderer but not mass...he murdered an Egyptian for beating Isrealites up when they were slaves and he hid the body. Then he fled from egypt because he was afraid of being killed by them. God forgives sins.

Now Mt saini? Well God is God and He wants people to follow only Him and no one else, he wants them to follow His rules strictly. When Moses went to talk to God in the mountain when he came back down many of the Israelites were worshipping a golden calf and participating in pegan ritual worship. According to that time and culture this included various perverse sexual acts. God was very angery that after all He did (bringing them out of egypt and showing his supernatural miraclous power to them that He is God). So he told Moses He was going to kill every single one of them but Moses pleaded with God to spare them. God said it will be okay. Moses went down and stood at the Mount after rbeaking the tablets. Then he drew a line on the ground and said "WHO IS ON THE LORD'S SIDE!!!! COME STAND BY ME!!" Then a lot of smart people came and stood on his side. Mainly levites from the tribe of Levi. he told them to take their swords and kill everyone who does not follow God. So they went around and EXECUTED not murdered over 3,000 people because the peopel were too stubborn and foolish to follow God. God did not want impure people corrutping everyone. The only peopel who died were the ones who were too stupid to stop their pegan worship. The ones who stopped worshipping the golen calf were obvious spared.

A lot of American christian colleges are very liberal and do not stress jesus Christ at all.
Why did you go to a Christian college anyway?
You think people who are Christians are stupid for their convictions? How can you say that? We could very well say your stupid for believing in nothing. Its obvious there is a God, whre else did the world and the universe come from? Do you seriously believe in that evolution stuff?

So Andrew you agree, so called God in Christianity was responsible for all those deaths.
