I don't think web votes/sms coming from other countries NOT listed in Sony India's list of eligible countries WILL BE COUNTED. I think they are simply rejected by their computer system.
If open to everyone then they would not be giving a list of few countries in their announcement.
Even if we can't vote , we can still support Prashant.
I WISH HIM GOOD LUCK FOR THE FINAL.
This longest running thread is coming to an end soon. Why not end this thread by the person "Ishwor12" himself who started it. It was fun following and discussing step by step of II3 here in sajha. Thank you everyone who fought as well as contributed here.
IS THE FINAL TONIGHT OR NEXT WEEK? IN INDIAN IDOL WEBSITE "voting lines will close on 23 September at 6pm"???
I made my contributions already and I 'm voting throught free sms too. I don't know whether they will count this or not but if it works then it will pay off. So, what's wrong for trying. From Canda or any other country. the procedure is same. Just select India from the list box and type 52525 and type Prashant in the message box and click send sms. After that you will see check and confirm your message, then click send sms now.
In order to repeat voting, you need to click on send new sms.
To do all this you need to register. Remember it is free SMS so, it doesn't hurt to try. Lets give a shot.
I found a nice commnet at http://www.india-forums.com/tellybuzz/article.asp?id=938 nice read.. -------------------- Indian Idol 3 A very excellent and true account of Prashant, in my view, he is a one off, God threw away the mould after he created Prashant.
Prashant and Amit are very good singers in their own unique way, and good friends too. It does not matter who wins the title, the runner up will have nothing to be ashamed about but everything to be proud of their achievement.
The very talented but eliminated Abhishek predicted Prashant as the Indian Idol 3, only time will tell. He probably knew something that the general members of the world public do not know!! ----------------------------------------------
Guys.. I'm sending sms through web, don't know if that would count, but if it would i know for sure its gonna make a lot of difference. WE SUPPORT PRASHANT... Lets continue voting as long as we can and as much as we can.. every coffee breaks worth couple votes.. every day.. until sept 23..
Amit fans get more time OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT Shillong, Sept. 14: For the people of Meghalaya, September 23 will be a red letter day.
Amit Paul, the Indian Idol finalist, will be performing live in Delhi.
Giant screens at different localities in Shillong, Jowai, Nongpoh, Tura, Williamnagar and elsewhere will beam the live performance.
This also heralds the new reach of information technology. Sony TV has just announced that the voting period has now been extended from 9pm on September 14 to September 23.
Meghalaya is also keeping tabs on what is happening in Darjeeling and Sikkim from where Prashant Tamang, the other contender, is getting maximum support.
Sikkim chief minister Pawan Kumar Chamling has gone all out to whip up a patriotic fervour on behalf of Tamang by mobilising financial and other support.
Earlier, the government of Meghalaya made Amit its brand ambassador for peace, communal harmony and excellence.
In his neatly-scripted handwritten letter oozing with emotion, Amit has thanked the people of Meghalaya for the “warm welcome back homeâ€.
“I have reached this far thanks to you. I appeal to you for your precious votes to make me Bharat ki Shaan,†Amit wrote.
Shillong Arts and Music Lovers Forum has chalked out new strategies to improve the voting count. More PCOs have been pressed into action. Pre-paid mobile cards from different service providers are being distributed. Flooded with complaints from PCOs about the clogged landlines, the forum approached the chief general manager, BSNL, to improve services.
The chief general manager telecom NE-1 Circle, A.K. Gupta, has assured that his department would take all possible measures to ensure free flow of phone calls.
During a media briefing in Shillong, the forum has appealed to people from the region and across the country to vote for Amit because they believe he “deserves to winâ€.
Not to be left behind in the Amit campaign, the Rilbong Sports and Cultural Club today organised a car rally with a huge billboard where fans can script their messages to their idol.
Speaking to this correspondent from Mumbai where he was at yet another “shootâ€, Amit sounded tired but confident. Saying that he was doing all within his might to make the people of Meghalaya, the Northeast and this country proud, he said: “I depend on the goodwill of my supporters. I hope they continue to vote for me.â€
Tomorrow, the forum will organise a fundraising dinner at a local hotel where potential donors will be invited. So far, MLAs and party candidates for the forthcoming elections in Meghalaya have put in all their resources.
Guys whoever are making strategies for Prashant please remember we need to be atleast 2 or 1 step ahead of them. If we are not. then we cannot compete. I found one Prashant's fans post in indianfourms.com where he/she wrote Prashant is getting financial support from nepali fans. They are colleting money from Nepal to send in India for SMS. Whoever is doing this are you so innocent or you don't want Prashant to win? So, please stop wrting that Prashant is getting so and so financial help from this and that. It hurts Prashant and encourage Amit's fans. Do not disclose the strategy. Please, please.

Music lovers urged to vote for Amit: As voting for the Indian Idol 3 will open for the whole week, starting from 9 pm of September 14 to 6 pm of September 23, before the final show, the chairman, Shillong Arts and Music Lovers Forum (SAMLF) JL Das appealed all music lovers throughout the country to vote vigorously through SMSs, landlines in favour of Amit as "he is a better singer than his counterpart, Prashant Tamang" while adding that it is the responsibility of the music lovers of the country to select the deserving contestant.
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Das said it has become impossible for people from a small state like Meghalaya to generate the required votes to make Amit Paul the next Indian Idol.
The Forum will take out a car rally in Greater Shillong area on Friday at 3 pm in this connection. The car rally will start from Parking Lot, Polo.
He further said that the SAMLF had already requested all the citizens of the State to contact their relatives and friends, who are settled, serving or studying in different parts of the country, to vote for Amit adding that the Forum, in its capacity, has started sending publicity materials to other states.
Mr Das said that the Forum has opened its office at Urban Shopping Complex, Police Bazar (Room No 18) from where publicity materials will be distributed all the over the State and the rest of the country.
He also informed that the Forum had negotiated with the mobile service providers in the State to improve their services in the coming week to ensure smooth flow of votes.
He said a delegation of SAMLF had also met the CGMT BSNL, Shillong and requested him to improve the landline service by opening more pipe/channel for the coming week during the voting hours.
Moreover, he said that if prepaid recharge coupon are available from Aircel and Airtel then fans of Amit and volunteers of the Forum will be asked to bring their mobile set to send SMS for Amit in one place or hall as identified by the Forum.
"No recharge coupon will be issued to any individual to use the same at home," Mr Das said.Further, he added that since the response in greater Shillong is spontaneous, and more than expectation, the Forum decided to concentrate its attention to other districts of the State through various NGOs, clubs and organisations.
Meanwhile, the Meghalaya Gorkha Welfare Union, the State President, the NCP Women's Wing NM Warjri, the All India Garo Union extended their best wishes to Amit Paul while acknowledging the initiative taken by the Government in conferring him as brand ambassador for peace, communal harmony and excellence. "Such a genius is hard to come by. His phenomenal rise is epoch making achievement," the AIGU remarked.
