As Kids and young adults and even now-a-days we use words like,

Bidhyanasta yaar....maile gareko hoina..

Amma kaasam malai thaha chhaina......

Amma ragat mero cycle hoina yaar......

Thinking about how we used to word these phrases...LOL and habits like touching your head and chest again and again while crosing a river in the school bus. If anyone touched your neck you had to blow(phoooo) the hand....lol the myth of a golgaad.... if you stomp anyones leg you had to Dhog that person...while passing a small round the corner temple......we had to ring the bell put tika n circle the temple once.  every time the evening light was turned on .......we kinda touch our head and then chest like to worship. and many more things we all do as a comon Nepali habit...Its not taught........but we all did it...our pyaro Nepali ways.

I played guchha .......and used my Middle finger for power shots and the game we normally played was ...one guy starts by tossing his marble far and the second guy throws his marble and the remaining players throw their where ever they want to and then the first guy has to aim and strike any one he chooses or come within a Bitta....(i mean the length from your thumb to the pinky) and if he comes within a bitta or strikes anothers marble he keeps it.....LOL that was our game

This is the best thread in Sajha. Do you guys remembe Amar Chitra Katha? I used to read lots of religious comics published by Amar Chitra Katha. In Tyauda tole (close to Asan), there used to be a guy (who looked like Amitabh Bachchan). He had a comic rental store. 25 paisa for one comic. Ram Rahim used to be quite popular. Can't remember other character names. Then there used to be Chacha Chaudhary.

Hi everyone in this thread I really enjoyed everyone's words coz I cud understand n in many cases experienced d events. Hey maddogg we used to have punishments like pulling side-locks(kanchat ko rau), squeezing pencils between fingers, slaps, sticks on d back/palms, standing over the bench for whole period, stand in front of door for whole period, kneel down d whole period, the most favourite KUKHURA / MURGA. The reasons were not doing homework, no proper cover in books/notebooks, talking in class, someone else complaining abt u 4 trivial reasons .............we too had d dreaded DARJEELING teachers but luckily I experienced only some of d minor punishments - d one I can never forget was a big slap over my face by a male teacher - i had d paanch aula ko chhap over my cheek d whole day

Wow when Kutamba mention those punishment techniques, It brought back my childhood memories about those school days. It is indeed quite funny when we reflect back to those incidents. Over here, even parents are more hesitant to punish their children physically, and on the other hand, were those days, when the teachers used to punish you as if you don't have any existance at all. I do remember my Nepali teacher, who used to hit slap so hard that u literally see the stars, and the reason for that ---you did not had cover in the "Mahendra Mala" book. So childish.

Those teachers snatching the "chungii", oh boy, that used to be one of the favorite sports. How about the teachers checking ur dress and shoes in the morning assembly? Have any comment about their dresses whatsoever?

Good old days, good old days.
