Hey everybody,
lets start a thread about any experiences and stories on how your life as a IT consultant started and how it ended up and if not ended up then how its going and all the whole nine yards. I'm thinking of joining a similar field and wanna know how it is out there for IT consultants.
I've heard of some dajusbhais didisbahinis doing pretty good and some not even getting a project yet.
But lets hear some from you.

kaamde
The user group you've created is not being cared for. Nobody is joining the group, nor do I see any responses. I think we should use the group created by Kaamde rather than talking here at Sajha.

I know this question might sound stupid, but are there any "online book" or "e-book" kinda thing where we can go and look up solutions on SAP FICO for different scenarios/problems that might arise when on the project? I do realize that there are books on SAP FICO where they have different scenarios/problems and corresponding solutions for them, but do they have any online version for those?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Gohtalo, I saw your resume, but its looks just a summary. You dont apply for a serious J2EE job with just one page of resume.
You need to have a detailed resume explaining all your academic and prifessional responsibilities. You need to boast a little too.

There is none. Unless you are working in realtime you cannot learn SAP easily since all the modules are interrelated. For Finance you need to have knowledge about logistic and sales. For BW you need to know controlling

If anyone doesnot have correct background it is a biggest career mistake to come in SAP. If you want to do Finance in SAP you must have a finance background (BBA, MBA) not IT background else sustaining in a job is a very very difficult task. Same with Logistics, you need to be a production engineering graduate to do that. I am not saying it cant be done but it is very very difficult.

Isnt that subscription fee in sappro.com too steep. 700$ Plus I didnt see anything there other than ABAP.

Instead you can join the following discussion groups.

groups.yahoo.com/group/sapient-fico (for finance)
sapsuperusers.com ( this pne has tons of reading materials if you are looking for one)

I wonder what the indian consultancies will do if they can't find enough people to go on projects now that the whole H1 thing is dependent on lottery.
By the way, has anybody who did regular H1-filing (as an undergrad) gotten their receipt yet?
