We had our interview this morning, good thing is GC is approved but they don't have visa number (visa regressed) available for us :( so we have to wait until next date available in visa bulletin.

About Interview, they didn't ask us any tricky questions, just random and approval letter was printed already was on table before even we get into the room.

Yes that is correct, people who applied before Sep 9, don't have to wait for date. I got my card in 2011 and I applied for my husband on Sep 12 and now waiting ....

They check house leasing, joint bank account, any bills like, gas, electricity, address in D.L may not be necessary I guess because some people may not have D.L. I filed in sept and had interview in Nov and GC in Dec

My I-130 was approved six months back when my spouse was a permanent resident. I filed I485 after my spouse became a US citizen in October, 2013. We are married and living together for three years now. I am done with fingerprint but yet to receive interview date or decision.
1. Will USCIS schedule an interview for already approved I-130 or give their decision without interview?
2. If yes, what to expect in the interview?
Thank you all,
- Homo Sapiens

I had my interview 3 weeks back. PD August 15. It was approved on the spot and the officer even printed the congratulation letter. Not a single tricky question. May be because we had tons of proof submitted like Joint accounts, pictures, lease, DL under same address etc. I had about 4 emails from them already once i got home and checked my phone. Also , for some reason i got 10 years GC instead of the conditional one . Not sure why....

Hi Guys,

I would like to share my brief movement regarding the approval of my green card. I have taken suggestions and ideas from sajha a lot so I would like to return the favor. Hope it helps :)

August 8, 2013 I130 receipt notice.
Sep 25, 2013 I485, I131 and I765 receipt notice
Oct, 2013 Biometrics taken
Oct 29, AP and EAD mailed
Jan 13, 2014 Interview. Approved

Interview day- Arrived 30 mins prior. we were called in after about 10 minutes of waiting. The lady officer asked to take a oath. Then asked to take seats. Asked for Driver license and passport. Confirmed my last entry in US and status, i.e. F1. Asked my name, current address, date of birth, wife's name, father's first name, mother's first name, place of birth, and then confirmed the biographical questions, for e.g have you ever been convicted of drug crime, etc etc. Answered with No ma'am. Then she turned to my wife and asked her brief questions like her name, date of birth, zip code, father's and mother's first name. Then she declared everything was fine and I should receive my GC in mail in 60 days. And before leaving she requested us to provide any kind of joint accounts. Quickly handed her bank transactions( gave her current month only though I had all from past 6 months) and vehicle insurance. She led us till the exit and wished us a good day. We did the same.

We had our interview this morning. We were called after about 25-30 minutes of waiting. Interview took not more than 20 minutes. The officer went through our application documents for about 10 minutes. Next 10 minutes she asked us for any proof that shows we live together as couple. We handed her our joint bank statements, copy of joint credit cards, lease document, joint bills. Then showed the flight and travel tickets we had. We had a photobook which we prepared ourself from our first visit till date. The officer asked us if we have any more documents like insurance and mortgage, etc. Since we are in School, we are under school insurance and we dint have any property under us. She said she was convinced with what we presented. She told us that she had to do some background check and will update in the system by noon. We got an update on I-485 around 1 pm today, the case is under card production.
I will update more once we get the card.

we had our interview almost 3 months ago, interview went very smooth, we just had a casual talk. Then in couple days they sent the RFE letter asking my wife's verification of status before filing for her I485 and the school records for her 1st year in US. We sent all the requested documents, and now we are still waiting for the decision, we haven't heard anything from USCIS. The case status is still in "Testing and Interview" for over 3 months now. She already got her I765 and Travel document.
just wondering how long it gonna take.

anybody in similar situation?
