5 days and counting!!! Are you guys ready?
NFL Pick’em 2011 is here !!!
Please visit http://sajha.com/sajha/html/sportsprediction.cfm?yearid=9f3b41db-c516-467e-a36d-340ff0073c57 to make your predictions. Week 1 is up for picks.
This is my first year trying to set up the picks and I plan to have the picks ready to be made by Tuesday of every week. If something goes wrong, please bear with me.
Here are some interesting points to consider in my opinion.
With the offseason acquisition of Ochocinco and Hayesworth, are the Patriots superbowl bound ?
Can Rex Ryan and the Jets finally make it all the way?
Can the Ravens finally overpower the Steelers?
Are Bengals going for a 0-16 season with Andy Dalton as a starter?
Is it finally the year for the Texans to get to their first postseason?
How much trouble Colts are in if Manning does not start Week 1?
Can Chiefs repeat last year’s success or are the Chargers going to claim their division crown back?
Eagles – superbowl or bust?
Can the Cowboys or Giants get back to post season?
Are Packers bound for a repeat? Can the Bears repeat last year’s success? Or is it finally the Lion’s year?
Are Saints superbowl bound or do Falcons have some other idea? How is Cam Newton gonna perform?
Is it the year of Kevin Kob or Sam Bradford?
I personally support Minnesota Vikings and I feel they have a long season ahead. Anyways Go VIkes !!!
Keep your opinions flowing!!!
Can’t wait for the opener!!!

Maybe experts here could answer my dilemma, I have three running backs in my fantasy football league - MJ Drew, Steven Jackson and Jhavid Best. I am inclined towards playing Best for sure cos he is playing at home (although Stafford clearly believes in passing game) and against 9ers. The quandary is between MJ and Steven Jackson. Both are facing a good defense.
But then again, Packs' defense isn't that great against running game (or a passing game this season). Whereas Steelers D, despite without Harrison would caulk Jags' running game.
So who should I play between these two? Size wise, Steven Jackson is a monster, and he can penetrate the D line. Still, could someone provide me credible input?

Boy, I haven't made a pick since week 1 so now I am already dropping out on this pool.
@behoove
I'd go with MJ Drew even though I think Steelers running D is better than Packs.
Jackson is coming back from injury so he will have a better showing than last couple of weeks, with the bye week rest and all; but until he posts some serious number this season, I'd like to go with MJ Drew. Remember, once they start throwing to MJ (he is a good recevier too) his yards will just go up.
If Jackson posts good number then going forward I'd go with him and Best.
Hope that helps.

behoove,
you dont have much choice here. Steven jackson cannot be starter becoz Rams gonna be playing catch up against packers scoring machine. They have to pass and only pass to have some chance against Rodger. That situation will reduce his touches and score.
Jags on other hand with new QB would depend more on running game. Steelers d-line is already looking mortal this season. Hope u will get more production from RB against steelers.

Excellent response, thanks Stiffler and Obama. Yes, MJ would carry as much as he could and to match Rodger's fast track scores, Bradford must throw (but to whom?).
I am playing two leagues currently, with head to head battles each week. I am 2-3 in one and 4-1 in other. I am a little concerned in the one I am losing cos my QB Rivers isn't playing well (and see what I have been reduced to, I had to play Jason Campbell for the bye week). Also with Steven Jackson gimpy and Dallas Clark clearly out of the picture, I am having a tough time rejuvenating my matchups. The only saving grace is Jennings, but with Rodgers having four different receivers at his disposition, cannot always throw at Jennings. Had Coltson earlier, but dropped him after he broke his collar bone (and hasn't done any good this year anyway), and my star receiver in Kenny Britt is out for the season.
However, on my other league, I am doing great. I have Rodgers as the QB, and Roddy White, AP, CJ2K, Deion Branch and Tony Gonzalez as key players. White and CJ2K have been a fiasco, but thanks to A-Rod and AP, I am still managing to win the majority of games.
I am a cheesehead, I bleed green and yellow when cut. But question for you guys, will Aaron Rodgers win over Brady in this year's MVP?

Behoove_me,
AR is definitely having an MVP caliber season. I hope he continues. And sadly, he is gonna trounce my Vikes this week :(
What game are you looking forward to this sunday guys? The only competitive game in my opinion this week is chargers at Jets. I hope chargers thrash those Jets to shut Fatty Ryan's mouth.

Jack,
While I prefer Chargers over Jets any given day, considering both gimpy Vincent Jackson and Antonio Gates, I do not see Rivers throwing much ball. Miami was successful running ball against Jets, and that is what Chargers should do (but they won't).
Rivers has had an awful season so far, with more interceptions than touchdowns, and he is facing against leagues best cornerbacks, gotta be careful.
As far as Rex Ryan is concerned, he is an idiot, no wonder he drafted 'shoot-himself-bonehead Burress' because Ryan has always been known as a guy who always shoots himself in the foot.
As far as drama in Minneapolis goes, WHAT ON EARTH WERE THEY THINKING WHEN THEY DRAFTED MCNABB? My heart goes out to you, but Vikes do not have chances to make it to the playoffs let alone superbowl anytime in next few years.

What an upset last night folks? Did anyone thought about that outcome?
Week 8 is up guys. Keys matchups this week in my opinion are,
Jac @ Hou
NE @ PIT ( I m sure Mike Tomlin has not forgot the last year's drubbing from Pats)
DAL @ PHI ( Need I say anything about this game?)
SD @ KC ( who will have a scarier night on Halloween?)
As always, dont forget to make your picks and share what you thought of last weeks results and coming fixtures.

Jacksparrow bro:
Why was I not awarded any point for 3 games? Last week, Green bay packers, New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers won their games but you did not provide me any point for that. What was the cause?
